You directly suggested Conte was moved to make the change after seeing the Chelsea game, as though an inverted wing-back had never occurred to him before. If he did understand its various strategic qualities beforehand, then what has the Chelsea system got anything to do with his decision-making?

I'm sure he finds something in all of his analyses. But I refer you to my first point. Doherty playing inverted had nothing to do with that game. It was a squad availability issue.

As for people claiming what Conte is thinking, how do you know? None of us have any idea what he's thinking about regarding the players he's choosing. All you're doing is taking some bullshit artist on Twitter and trying to rationalise why that might be the case. For all we know, Conte sees Zaniolo as his Barella in a three-man midfield. Or as a direct Kulu rotation. None of us know anything about his plans.

Honestly I think your reading far too much into what I’m saying. I’m by no means, and never once claimed, that I 100% know for a fact exactly what Conte’s thinking ?

All I’m doing is expressing an opinion/theory that I’ve had on a player on a discussion forum. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't know what itk say and I wouldn't question it anyway. But I'll be amazed if either para, Conte or levy will buy Zaniolo even if he's 10m cheaper than an available madfison! Simply because Maddison is a far better player and has all the hg, prem xp etc that apparently is so important. Guess we'll see by TDD.

He’s clearly a talent but wether u prefer Maddison or not I think this deal is crucial for conte long term, he’s said he’d be happy staying here if we let him build like klopp. If we want him to build a project we need to trust him like Liverpool with klopp, a lot of his signings were questioned at the time and look how it turned out. It’s clear (from reports) Zaniolo is his preferred option

Yeah, if he really wants him we need to get him. Herc said it was a tough deal to do but hopefully we get him if he’s really the want he wants.

This is the thing, last season was his first back in a long while. He was never going to be showing anything near his best. There is a reason he was considered the best young talent in Italy at one point. I know it’s only pre season, but he will only get better.
