Levy learning from lessons?

We'll see.
Well it depends what else is going on.

If there is indeed a bit of a power struggle and levy decides to fire Conte, what are others going to do? Mainly Lewis' daughter?

This is really good to read. At least it means we'll have some stability until the end of the season.
I’m not sure having what will be essentially a dead man walking till the end of the season translating well on the pitch despite my wishes to retain Conte and back him.

He won't be a dead man walking if he has a good second half of the season.

IF we sign Porro and Zaniolo, and keep our key players fit, then I really don't see why we can't finish strongly.

Because if he was sacked, they would not only have to fork out the rest of his contract but they would be major uproar.

You bring a guy in as a last roll of the dice and fire him after 14 months.

What does that day?

If they let his contract finish they can say that the club and Conte wish to go in different directions so I think it's less about money but more about Levy protecting what little he has left.
Surely that wouldn't be any sort of reason to keep quiet about, from an ITK perspective though.

Well, from Trixs ITK a few weeks back, it sounds like levy is angling for something like this but not necessarily making that clear.

He could be stringing those along, which then means no-one has any idea what's gonna happen

But its clear there's a stand off. If we were to sign Zaniolo and Porro, that could be an indicator Conte will stay.

Yeah, I can see this one getting done on deadline day - loan to buy is Paratici's bread and butter.

35-40 million euros is probably worth the gamble tbh.

Yep I've mulled these scenarios over, I'm just not sure harder to get rid of than other managers means "fan based reaction" , who knows, sounds like DL is losing it a bit though.

The article Di Marzio article…

The Roma outgoing market is heating up , especially for Nicolò Zaniolo , one of the players most used this season in the Giallorossi's offensive department. Since the last summer transfer market session, the number 22 of Mourinho's team has been highly sought after on the international scene.

After staying in Rome to play the first part of the season with the club, Zaniolo can now really leave in January . Between old flames returning to the 23-year-old forward and interested new clubs, the last 13 days of this market could open up to an immediate sale by the Giallorossi .

Rome, Zaniolo can leave in January

Roma have opened to the sale of Nicolò Zaniolo . After making a block in the summer, in recent months one of the most debated issues within the Giallorossi environment concerned the renewal of the Italian forward. But with the OK from the Roma management for a transfer in January, new doors are opening for Zaniolo.

The striker's agents born in 1999 are already at work to find offers that can materialize in the next few days of the transfer market. The interest of Tottenham resists on Zaniolo , already an interested spectator since last August. Fabio Paratici, DS of the Spurs, has proposed a loan with an obligation to buy upon the occurrence of certain conditions

There is also West Ham in the Premier League , a club in which Zaniolo would find his national teammates Scamacca and Emerson, as well as the Italian Ogbonna. From Germany, Borussia Dortmund joins the teams that have done a poll for the player.

To sell Zaniolo outright, Roma start from a request of around 40 million euros , and are not willing to go below 35 . The Giallorossi are monitoring every possible offer - which has not yet arrived at the moment, net of many interests -, also keeping an eye on any replacements already in this January session in the event of a sale.

Surely a permanent signing is just too much of a risk if Conte isn’t committing to a new deal. I don’t really want Zaniolo at all but couldn’t complain if it’s a long with an option.

Loan with obligation if conditions are met sounds sensible. Need to make sure he can cope with the Prem without getting injured every other game.

Think he would be a good player to have regardless of who the manager is tbh.

This is Di Marzio?

If so, very promising

Perhaps I’m getting mixed signals here from WLB in that whilst he won’t/can’t be sacked this month the likelihood is he’ll walk away in the summer hence my take on it but then if he’s backed with the players he wants in Zaniolo and Porro then that does suggest otherwise.

A lot of moving parts surrounding Tottenham right now and alot of permutations to say the least!

Yeah. Can play all along the front line, as no.10, or even deeper in midfield, and has good technique and strength. Any manager we appoint is going to value those qualities.
