I’d honestly feel so much better about this appointment if we had a DoF in place. Everything I’ve read about Munn does not suggest to me that he is a football expert and his knowledge is the Australian and Asian market not the European one. Just because he worked for the City group doesn’t mean he knows the nuances of the PL. It’s fairly obvious that he was the instigator for this appointment, probably backed up by Base.

For me I’m not at all convinced by Ange, maybe if he was a clear first choice then I’d be more inclined to believe he was part of a clear club vision, but we know he was our 3rd choice at best which does not inspire confidence. Really I can’t help but feel there are better targets available even discounting Nagelsmann.

I will 100% back him and put my belief in him. I am hoping he will prove my fears unfounded. But for this moment I am, after all this time, disappointed.

Yeah the recruitment team is a worry. It consists of a guy from Watford and a bloke who failed at Everton. They’ve nobody to report into except levy and a guy with zero experience in Europe. There’s a lack of experience there without a director of football to pick up the reigns. In that respect I do hope paratici is still in levy’s ear on players because we need someone with experience in there until we make an appointment.

Some Aussie flavour

Ange, Ange, Ange, oh-oh
I've never seen anybody do the things you do before
They say, win for me, win for me, win for me, ay-ay
And when Spurs are top, I'll see you do it all again

Absolutely not

I’ve watched that video clip of him saying how he is aware he was considered a joke when he was appointed as Celtic manager. Those of you being negative and ready to give him pelters at the first sign of bad form then I say bring it on. Give Ange something to prove, give him the motivation - he’s obviously someone that channels negative energy and turns it to his advantage.

Have supported us through the Gerry Francis and Christian Gross years, this is just a return to the mean. Would not be surprised at all with a bottom half finish next year.

‘To say I’m underwhelmed is an understatement.
My heart is saying that I hope he works out and turns out to be great at what he does but my head is saying no chance. It’s a disgrace that this is the best our board can come up with after 3 months.’

‘Good luck Ange, you are going to need it.’

‘Do you really think he will be backed? Not a chance. All done on the cheap again’

‘A completely unnecessary risk of an appointment. Good luck Ange, you'll need it.’

‘Utter shambles of an appointment but at least we can stop discussing what's and ifs...
I give home 6 months in the sacking sweepstake’

All posts from Celtic fans. I think you’d all agree that we could have filtered those in at any point over the last few pages and none of us would have been any the wiser!

The striking thing about the first few pages of the Celtic forum is how underwhelmed they all were at his appointment. Now they’re desperate for him to stay.

It will be nice going back to being a cup run team. Random 4-3 scorelines vs the good teams, pathetic draws away from home vs the bad sides.

A nice comforting 10th with some exciting matches and some agony in the cups
I preferred Phil_1.0 😁

Edit: Just saw someone else beat me to it 🤦🏼‍♂️

I like him, I've just spend 90 enjoyable minutes listening to him on a podcast from October, talking more about himself and his journey than anything to do with actual football. He's a good ****.

Maddest thing is that they were that way, only a year removed from doing 4 trebles in a row.

I had Ange in the list for this threads first post. The reason was because pundits and other football fans were raving about his football style. i had actually never seem his team play but i couldnt ignore the constant positive comments about him. No one was talking about him winning games or trophies at Celtic as almost every manager wins there but it was his style that was talked about the most. Even those heavy European defeats, people were saying Celtic were creating chances but just couldnt finish. He will have better players at Spurs.

Whether he can translate that to the EPL is obviously the big question but i think it is worth a punt especially as we didnt get poch back and couldnt get Naggelsman.
