I mean, let's compare these.

One is a man who understands a manager is a figurehead, the face of the club. The other is an egotist who insists on a separation between the two so he can wash his hands of it. The former respects his fanbase and the power they hold; the other seems to see it as an affront to him, despite their near constant support of him. One seems to recognise that he has the power to impact his environment; the other wanted us to believe absolutely nothing could be done and he'd take a fortune every week to do nothing.

I prefer, greatly prefer, the former.
You're not wrong but also one is dealing with levy and the other not. Also one has won the premier League and Serie A has ambitions of doing that regularly. The other will be happy to be here and getting top 4.

No shame on Ange but he'll probably talk like Conte after 3 months of levy. Look what he did to Poch.

Definitely a Risky appointment imo. Could be great, could be awful. Hopefully he can translate his style into the PL.

Hopefully we back him this transfer market also. We are definitely short in quality for the way he likes to play.

Could see Porro playing RB and coming into midfield, swear he has done this in his short time with Pep.

I have a mate who's a Celtic supporter and i've made absolutely no effort at all to get in touch with the fucker. I know you're absolutely gagging for news and I can only apologise for letting you all down by sparing you the complete irrelevance of the views of some random spunkbubble :(

The way he talks I think he would win over the fans and media very early on. With the players they all say it comes down to first couple of training sessions, if they are good then that combined with some good talks can get them on his side very quickly.
I hear you re first few home games but I actually think fans will give him some time, If the fans are going to boo / chant it will be towards our dear leader not Ange.

Given he plays a very heavy pressing game it will take a good while to get the players used to it so expect the first few months we will be very inconsistent and concede quite a lot. As long as there are some signs of progress like when Poch came in then he will be given time by fans

Yes I agree with the bolded bit. The disgruntlement will be towards the owners, not the underlings!

I guess the players might have known that he was a possibility to come in for a while too. I’m sure it was posted on here once by ITK that he was second choice after Slot, but I might be mistaken. So they’d be ready for him and the ones who are keen, probably watched the same YouTube videos about him as us.

People have their different views on Mason, but from a player’s’ perspective it might be a good idea to try and keep him around to help smooth things over, especially in regards to training.

We all just need to get on board with it now and hope for the best and that he’s a success. I’m looking forward to hearing him address the media and fans and putting across him and his thoughts and targets. Those initial interviews will go a long way to getting people behind him if he is as personable as people say.

Looks like an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object....Kane/Son heavy pressing ? not a chance.

Kulu hasn't shown an inclination for pressing much either. Aussie wants pressing forwards, he'll need to move players on and get...... 'young, energetic and enthusiastic players in'..(Ryan Mason)

Presumably with his rolling contract, there will be no compensation to pay.
But he won’t be able to officially start work until 1st July?
Don't think that will matter. He's already said he's going on holiday after the final, and I'm sure if his appointed, he will have spoken about targets and plans already. Pre-season doesn't begin until July anyway, so the players won't be around until then.

I love how many people have already decided Ange would be happy with top four, will be horrendous for his first few games, have decided they will “give him time” but not as much as Enrique et al.

Honestly, give people a fucking chance.

Viewing figures for the Scottish Cup final tomorrow are going to be significantly inflated I bet.

There’s two immediate issues for him. 1. If he comes I think his first press conference and club interviews have to be very good and inspire a lot of people to get them onside. He’s got to win over the players, players we want to sign and the majority of the fanbase.

2. On top of that he’s got to manage upwards with a board who is known to like to meddle in things.

It will be intriguing if he comes and will need to be given a chance. I said the same with Nuno and tried to put a brave face on this like I will do now with this. But I fear he’s going to be fighting a losing battle. If I were him I’d be putting as much into winning those first few home games and not worrying about the away ones. He’ll be walking into such a toxic environment I dread to think what will happen if we lose those games. Good luck to the bloke, he’s going to need it.

There are 2 huge differences between him and Nuno, which I think will give him a much greater chance of succeeding:

1. He believes in and coaches attacking football. Nuno was another defensive, pragmatic manager. All that rubbish we saw about Paratici trying to convince Levy he played attacking football was hilarious. Anyone who had watched his teams knew he was pragmatic and defensive. Postecoglu on the other hand is a positive manager, he wants to attack and be on the frontfoot. All of his beliefs are about attacking the opponent and not compromising. This aligns with our club's history and style of play. It's what our fans want to see.

2. Ange has a personality and has charisma, where as Nuno was boring as hell and had zero charisma. Nuno couldn't inspire anyone and he couldn't connect with the fans at all (some of that was because he simply didn't share the same footballing beliefs our fans do). Ange on the other hand can inspire people and connects with the clubs he manages. He connects with the fans and shows them that he wants to play attacking football and he wants the fans to feel part of something, playing a style of football which our great club should always play.
