I'd go the other way, you win the treble with Celtic there is no realistic goal which beats that in modern football. Lisbon Lions aren't happening again, even Europa League is financially unattainable in reality. Common sense says he'll take the Spurs job if offered it. Just think that the big winners in this chain of events will be Rangers.

Something doesn’t fit here. And I suspect it’s your assessment of Ange.

Postecoglou is no mug and no chairman’s bitch. Any understanding of his work in Australia would show you that - and his winning over of a sceptical Celtic fan base.

is he the best for Spurs? I don’t know. But portraying him as a cheap option does him a massive disservice

Agree although I think Trix means cheap in terms of no buy-out clause as you’re right we paid huge wages for Jose and Conte and Nuno was Paratici’s last min choice over Fonseca.

My worry about Ange is his Celtic team are very poor at defending. If he come to us we’ll be like Biesla’s Leeds. We’ll overwhelm some teams but the better ones will pick us off like Celtic were in Europe.

I’m not an Ange fan but three important points:

1) 9 of the goals conceded have come in 3 of their last 4 games since they won they league. Pre this they had only conceded 25 goals in 34 games. Look at Barcelona for comparison, pre being 99% certain of winning the league they had only conceded 11 in 33 games. They’ve since conceded 7 in 3 of their last 4 games. In both instances they’ve utilised their squads and took their foot off the gas.

2) Celtic play a high press all out attacking football. The risk with this is leaving gaps at the back. However, in Celtic’s case this isn’t really an issue as they frequently don’t just beat the opposition they hammer them. When you’re scoring 3, 4 goals etc most games it doesn’t matter if you concede 1.

3) They no longer have the likes of VVD and Tierney at the back. They’ve now got CC-Vickers who’s miles below the level of VVD… with Joe ‘I forgot to dive’ Hart in goal. If our rumoured targets go to plan, Ange will have a much greater calibre of goal keeper and defenders than he had at Celtic.

Very good points.

And if we were able to get a defender who is the ying to Romeros's yang, then these players are more capable of snuffing danger out faster.
