I've had concerns about this for some time. We're not as attractive a job as our fans seem to think.

We have a reputation that is now set in stone of not backing managers. We hired two of the most successful coaches of this century and they both not only failed but have nothing good to say about how we operate.

Watching Pochettino at his peak not only failed to be backed but for us to not sign anyone at all. That's damaging to our reputation.

It's not just the managers that have been here. Ten Hag, Fonseca, Gattuso, Nagelsmann - do you think these managers view us positively?

Top level football is a tiny industry. Like any industry however, people will speak to others about their experience engaging with an entity before considering taking the job there.

The fact that we struggled to find a manager in 2021 was the first warning sign that our reputation was in the gutter. This search is further confirming it.

We're going to end up in a situation where like Conte we have to pay managers large sums of money on short-term contracts to entice them to come. That's not how a club like ours should have to entice managers.

As we continue to bumble about and suffer these high profile rejections, more and more managers will stay far away from us.

When you take off your Spurs-tinted glasses, we're not an attractive job.

I think this is true to an extent, but had Levy agreed to pay £15m compensation to Feyenoord yesterday Slot would most probably be here.

Why is it that events at the club I have supported since 1959 bring Nero playing a fiddle while Rome burns? It’s time Levy was gone but, lucky for him, our last game is away to Leeds and only our faithful travelling supporters will be able to voice supporters true feelings.

Another option if we decided not to pursue so he came out with the "Didn't even want to leave" rhetoric.

Still a mess, but another view of the mess.
Yes possibly. I can’t imagine that it would be as simple as Feyenoord saying “we’d like €20M please” and Spurs saying. No thank you, goodbye.

Biggest blunder done by Levy was not Poch sacking or even hiring Nuno....

Biggest blunder IMO was sacking Mourinho a week before cup final. We never got a proper reason from club for it. To sack Jose a week before cup final is unpardonable, the one thing he could have made a huge difference - the one thing fans crave for...Levy for whatever reason did that blunder....

Why would any reasonably good manager looking at that , will warm up to us ? No wonder, Jose is still pissed at our club management
I really do think we would have won the cup if Jose stayed. City really struggle against us usually and Jose knows mind games, how to frustrate and grind out a result in big matches.

I hate supporting this club. Thanks Levy
I feel your pain. My earliest memories are supporting Spurs in the 80s, and I know some of you poor buggers have been around a lot longer. I will continue to love spurs, but fuck me its hard sometimes

Think it’s undeniable that our pool of potential managers would be much bigger without Levy here

that was proven in 21 and proving itself again now

I think he makes us a much more unattractive proposition than we should be

really we should be a great proposition

no one wants Levy as a boss though

Conte went out the door ten Hag never entered through - nor will Slot it seems. But despair not! There are plenty of other candidates that meet Daniel´s criteria:

...and also why it´s absolutely pointless to hope for Gallardo.

In the hunt for a new DoF, there´s also some very exciting prospects:

You have to crack some eggs to make an omelette, and Daniel has finally taken the point that he needs to be brave and make some bald choices for our future to be great!

Kind of feel like a child in the middle of a divorce. We love our mom (the club), but our dad (Levy) is an absolute prick and he’s going for custody. We are just along for the shitty ride and can’t do nothing about it.

Rodgers’ (and Potter, same agent) agent hates Daniel Levy, won’t be happening
Yes, of course an agent will stop his client accepting the best, most highly paid job available to his client (and earn himself a massive commission) just because he doesn’t like Levy.

Slot, Naggelsman and Poch were all the right managers. The right manager will not work under Levy
Well Poch did work out and there's no telling about the other 2 unless we pull a shock and get Nagelsmann. For me the right manager is someone who has managed underdogs and plays brave attacking football but connects with the players. We are in similar shape to when Poch took over. We got lucky with the right man on that occasion. I guess our best hope is to get lucky again. Even Redknapp did great here. Its just whether you get the right fit for the players. Lets not act like everyone has failed under Levy. It is possible we just have got it wrong the last 3 times so people have no belief he will get it right the 4th time.

Having more in the pool is the problem. Levy and his merry band of men (women and others) cant settle on one, its their courting of others thats the issue.
Its almost like being in the Playboy mansion and settling for one without looking at the others

Only tangible way I see out of this if Levy allows Munn to get the DoF and then leaves it to them to get the new coach.

At the arrival of the DOF we get 2 statements. One from Levy saying he is no longer a part of football operations and one from Munn stating the football structure and objectives.

That may at least signal that interference on big matters no longer is a huge issue.

But nope. We have Levy heading up the managerial and Dof hunt because he HAS TO get ir right and be seen as the one to do so. Control freak

As soon as the ownership changes to someone competent, the Spurs job suddenly becomes the most attractive one in world football imo

Surely the series of concerts rolling through our stadium all summer would earn that 15M back quickly? Utterly bizarre to think that if everyone decided Slot was the best fit that we'd let 15M stand in our way
