All true mate although if Slot if the one then could be waiting for then to tie up the league likely this weekend so can’t announce it yet.

OR we’re not close to a new manager yet and are sorting a new DofF first and taking an absolute age to decide both because Levy has no plan or clue.

But not a surprise another bad PR move by the club although they will fool a small % with the ‘we are interested in JN line’ whereas If it broke that JN turned us down then that would just be 💯 negative so I see why they’ve leaked it even if it is clear as day to most of us that it’s likely bs.

I love all the names you’ve mentioned, if we get one of those aside from maybe Amorim then happy days but it’s the other 5-6 names that Levy could land on which worry me 🤣😅

Let’s see how it shakes out, I’m still quietly optimistic the new manager will be a good fit 🤞

There’s another 5-6 names? (*shivers*) But jokes aside, let’s see how it pans out as you say.

Can I ask why people think Slot will be good. Is it just we’re so fed up with the style of football we have been served up anyone who has been successful with a progressive style of football is being lauded. Albeit succeeding in a lower league like the Dutch erividerise or that he’ll be grateful of the opportunity to step up rather than a manger looking at us as he’s doing us a favour etc

All of the above. He’ll see us as a big club move and be excited by the opportunity. He’s a progressive manager with a high press, attacking style of play. He’s very innovative in his training and methods hailed as a genius. Players apparently love and respect him.

Ok, do you think he’ll have pulling power with potential new signings?

Had a lot of real world issues to deal with for the last month so not been following this (or football in general) too closely.
What happened with the Kompany links? He was favourite last time I looked and flicking back hasn’t been discussed in here for days.

The big criticism of Levy appointing Conte was that Conte clearly had demands that the club could not satisfy. Conte needed certain players, that cost a lot of money and that was pretty clear upfront. Levy appointed him knowing what he needed, and couldn't (for whatever reason) give Conte what was required. Which led to the (fair) question, why the hell appoint a manager like Conte if you can't/won't give him what he needs to succeed?

If the club have contacted Nagelsmann and listened to what he would need and made the decision that they cannot meet his demands and give him what he wants - surely it is better to be upfront and move on to another candidate than appoint him anyway and not give him what he has asked for?

If it's true Nagelsmann is out of the running, it's disappointing. But, I'd rather the club were honest and aligned with whoever we bring in.
