The only two options are:
  1. We've fucked it in negotiations (embarrassing)
  2. Levy has decided he knows better than everyone in football and is ignoring the perfect manager (terrifying)
Either way, what a farce. I have absolutely zero faith in their decision making.
The noise coming out a few weeks ago was that JN was after assurances over certain things. Either budget or control over the transfer decisions.

Easy to see why it would break down there. As with Levy involved, these negotiations will never be smooth.

It’s predictable to see us fumble around, before making a lesser appointment (a La Nuno previously) or worst even worse, we just end up with Mason…

Yeah Bayern ditched him cause he beat barca psg and inter home and away without letting a goal in after losing his main striker in lewandowski. But of course not good enough for us and Mason is. Lol fucking jokers. This is why we’re a club where people go “lads it’s Tottenham”

You know what, him not having a job doesn't mean he is the right one for us. All the messages from mason and Kane this week abiut culture, values etc... We need someone for the long term... Someone who won't think he is too good for us. Again, it doesn't mean he is for us just because he has no job.
So who can bring values that we had under Poch back to the club?

1. Poch
2. Ange

Who else is capable of this? Is Slot this type of person?

he is you know!

I love it how so many people are championing Slot because he’s ‘Martin Jol Mk 2’..

Jol was a lovely old boy, but I don’t remember winning much under him either!

This club trousers more than €120m every home game, compared to say €30m taken at the San Siro, we pay the highest price for a season ticket in the country, yet we treat top class managers like they‘re the ones who don’t know how things are run. It’s a disgrace!

I wish it was €120m, more £5-10m

Going to be a lot of conjecture about what happened here whether it's us trying to save face or Nagelsmann and his team just not accepting the conditions proposed from Levy - including the lack of a DoF already in situ.

What it does represent though is a great big kick in the bollocks because he is the outstanding candidate and I can't help but feel we've once again fucked up trying to be clever, looking at interviewing all and sundry and going through a massive due diligence process and we've lost sight at what's staring right in front of us.

The whole damn recruitment process has once again been a total farce and shows no signs of clear vision from the top.

We need a full rebuild and I don’t think Nagelsmann would’ve been down for that. Get the next Poch, someone who will be ready to build over time. We will not win shit next year. Get that into your heads. We must try to build to win things in 2025 or 2026.

The rebuild doesn't exist.

Not if the players bought at the beginning of the rebuild have retired by the end of it.

Or got fed up and left.

Bar a fleeting 2 year spell under Poch - which Levy refused to capitalise on - it's been the same story for 22 years.

Those aren’t the only two options though are they.

There’s any number of reasons why it’s just not a good pairing.

Sorry to dissent against the community cry/rage wank that’s developing. I just don’t see this as a reason to go into meltdown.

Everyone needs to chill.

Bayern got rid early into his contract and Chelsea ruled him out immediately. Not the CV of the perfect manager IMO.

Another top class manager points at Tottenham and says, ‘They haven’t got a clue and are a fucking joke’…

Levy is turning this club into football’s laughing stock! How much more of this are we suppose to take!? It’s unbearable!
Levy will always have his fan club and spin this as good news even if we end up with Pulis 🤣

Naglesmann was the only one I reckon Kane would have considered sticking around for. Anyone else we’ve been linked with that comes in. Is going to have a whole summer of Kane pushing for a move as well. Absolute shambles

If Donna Cullen is in charge of our PR, how can someone that shit at their job be on our exec board.

We really are fucked with this bunch of clowns.

Maybe I’m being naive and putting 2+2 together and getting 5, but from all the media information and ITKs it’s strongly sounded like Arne Slot all along.

Cant believe after a couple of weeks of Nagelsmann talk and DOFs he would work well with being touted we have distanced ourselves from him. As others have said he mustve rejected us.
I resigned myself to another Nuno summer a long time ago but when the stars seemed to align to get Levy out of jail with JN i still let myself believe we surely couldnt mess it up.
