Rangers are in transition at the moment I wouldn’t get carried away with Celtic running away with the league. I would be seriously worried if Ange was in the conversation.

The fact that Kane is talking again about our lost values since Poch is such a good thing, Levy will listen to him and if he, Mason and other key players as well as all the fans are all giving the same feedback about the lost values and style of play etc then surely to goodness the next manager we hire is going to be back towards the poch model and be a better fit so we can enjoy the club more again.

🤞

Also Kompany signing a new deal so that rules him out, JN or Slot would be absolutely fantastic 🙏⚽️

Feyenoord now just one point away from winning the title - three games remaining all against bottom half teams. Expect the Slot chatter could pick up again as soon as they've secured it. He'll certainly start getting asked about his future a lot more.

What does that make us?

Managers can sell their inability to win anything at Spurs as just emblematic of Spurs being Spurs - of course we're a tempting choice for aspiring managers with our stadium/training facilities/based in London/almost always in Europe... But at the same time, we're not serious title challengers and have no recent history of winning anything. And given the well-publicised restraints on any manager (you know, what that other thread is for) I suspect that we're seen as an understandable indulgence before managers move on to/back to something they're serious about.

So that makes us a gap year.

Also worth remembering that all the other clubs in Scotland are on their arses financially after covid. TV money is nowhere near as big up there, and so clubs rely on gate receipts far more than in the English premier league. So it’s no surprise that Celtic are able to run away with it, it’s frankly like shooting fish in a barrel.

Neil Lennon also ran away with the title in Scotland multiple times, no fucker wants him as our new coach now do they?

What makes people think that Slot would leave straightaway after winning the league, they’ll get more money, qualify for the CL and try to build on a great season. Kompany is doing a similar thing.

The big difference with Slot is the lure of the Premier League

I don’t see how, given that last year we had a £150m injection and only spent £100m of it.

I’d be more surprised if we spent over £50m net than if we had a 0 net spend this summer. We’ll definitely need to sell to buy because of the number of players we have.
because if we don't, we're totally screwed as a club, regardless of who is manager, and will be mid table or worse - so youd like to think that they'd want to prevent that.

And who’s in charge of the selling. Hopefully not levy

Was just watching a Feyenoord few days ago on a stream. Their league soccer is really played at a much slower pace. Appointing him carries a larger risk than a Premier league or Bundesliga manager.
Luckily it wouldn't be him doing the running...😉

It's gone quite quiet lately hasn't it. I suppose even the aggregators have got embarrassed about regurgitating the same few stories.
