I’d love to have dinner with Steve McClaren and Joey Barton just so I can hear their Dutch and French dulcet tones. Then maybe burn the place down but rescue McClaren last minute cos he’s a nice enough bloke, but then push him on the floor when we’re outside or something.

I did think and say that Nagelsmann to Chelsea was far from a given.

Under Abramovich probably but Nagelsmann is the kind of coach who, after his Bayern experience, is probably looking for a role where the hierarchy aren't going to dictate him, go over his head.

Levy is far from an ideal owner BUT at least Nagelsmann's signings would match our strategy.

Levy is more likely to back a coach like Nagelsmann than Conte and his insistence on big experience.

Nagelsmann probably wants to go to a club where he is the main man in the dressing room (rightly), Chelsea with their 30 players and owner who insists on being in the dressing room, will not give him that.

Can we create a banner for Nagelsmann so that our board wakes up?!
Fans shouldn't influence the manager search. It's fair to have an opinion but the club should be in position to do far more research and to interview any potential candidate to make the best decision. I doubt too many were convinced we should get Poch at the time for example. I'd be happy with Nagelsmann but at the same time I don't really know nearly enough about him and what his plans would be. He could very much be a bad choice.

no way he will want to come here then either if thats the case 😂
Lol, but what structure is there? “I really don’t like your … front of house reception staff?” he echoes across the dusty, empty boardroom

He is 100% A West Ham fan.

The article is spot on, he’s obviously joking with the god forbid comment about us. I swear the sense of humour on this forum has completely disappeared in recent times.
I didn't even think twice about the god forbid comment, i've seen worse on this forum and at this point i find it sorta amusing more then anything. I mean we are a laughing stock and many Spurs fan laugh. Being upset about that is silly. I also didn't actually mention it at all in my original comment so not sure why you are pulling that up.

But I disagree the article is spot on, my umbrage with it, as i said in my original post, is he is saying the reason for Chelsea's struggles regarding finding a manger is due to them not wooing their targets and doesn't mention anything, aside from rushing their transfers, about how they are maybe not as an attractive prospect due to how Boehly seems to be handling things. His hands on involvement and seeming lack of understand of football are surely a big concern for any manger, not how special Boehly makes a manger feel. Even reports suggested that this is why JN pulled out of discussions.

Really think Poch will struggle at Chelsea.

What made his Tottenham team so good?

- Small tight-knit group that he was able to absolutely push to the limit in training.
- Young impressionable players - some from the academy.
- No egos, all the players had been signed for smaller fees barring Lamela.
- Those who were signed for big fees and salaries (Adebayor, Paulinho, Soldado) all shipped out.
- Being able to pick a regular 11 and not have too many players upset at not making it - he will not be able to do that at Chelsea.
- Will players who are benched or told to sit out press like demons when they get their chance or even in training?
- What even is their best 11????

As a fan, I will never accept Poch going to Chelsea, even if he's not in a job. In the last decade our rivalry with Chelsea has grown to equal, and in some ways even surpass our rivalry with Arsenal IMO.

Poch said he'd never go to Barca because of his ties to Espanyol, going to Chelsea or Arsenal is the same and if he goes I'd never want him back at the club again. He constantly flirted with the big boys while he was here too. That to me shows a lack of integrity.
Think he said something along the lines of, he'd rather work on a farm then coach a rival.
If he goes there and Chelsea do what they do and axe him after 6 months he will have 3 sackings in 4 years on his C.V (including about 18 months out of work).
Would wreck his reputation to the point milking the cows could be his next gig.

I think it's been said on here by several others but we need a manager that really wants the gig. If JS has spoke with Chelsea and not us already then it's clear we are back ups and none of want that all over again

We need to stop dating 8 out of 10s when we are only a 7. Our strategy should be to target the 5s and 6s and give them a face lift
