A sign of just how dysfunctional things must be is the hiring of Munn…That is, it is obvious that Levy won’t relinquish control because of his ego and own insecurities so Munn simply serves as another “yes man”

It will be in my opinion underwhelming from what I’m hearing. Just can’t see our chairman letting go.
I know you get more behind the scenes info than most but we know anything can happen regardless of what news is being passed to you. It must be frustrating knowing how close we could be to good things, players or managers, if it wasn’t for Levy.
Pleasant surprises and dancing bananas last week to incompetence and being underwhelmed this week.
As A&C said earlier, it really doesn’t matter who takes over as it will never change with Levy overseeing things.

If it's Ange you have to just hope he's a late bloomer. Redknapp didn't manage any top clubs until us but then he did win the FA Cup with Portsmouth.
I would be a lot more enthusiastic about him if he was in his 40s. To be this late in your career without a major job is concerning.

Ange would have to get the fans on side really quickly somehow because if it starts bad next season it will get even more toxic.

Him being appointed won't settle the fans down at all.

I know your also a big big fan of his to. I will never not be equally amazed and frustrated that we aren’t seriously looking at him. I’d get it if Nagelsnann was still a real option but at this point, looking at other possible candidates, I can’t see a valid reason unless he has told us to do one in which case i probably have even more respect for him 😂.
It is very frustrating, I agree.

He has always been my no1 pick but as soon as we got linked to every coach as him, I've not vested any interest as I'll just be disappointed.

Postecoglou may come in and do well.

But Gallardo genuinely has the competency and skills to turn us into a serious unit.

People are seriously underestimating how complex South American competitions are.

And as you rightly pointed out, Brazilian teams dominate the competition and have more financial weight behind them.

My only concern with Gallardo was outdone by a very typical modern
Looks like it's time to make peace with a Nuno-esque, Yes man appointment.
Clearly Levy will never let go of footballing control and this will be the status quo for the foreseeable :(

At a time when Rangnick was practically offering himself and Nagelsmann on a silver plate, this is incredibly frustrating, disheartening.
Because anyone who wants to have a level of control over football matters will not be pursued longer

Forget Amorim. Next…
Interesting, he’d have been an intriguing option.

Realistically surely big Ange is a good bet right now.

I think L.Enrique will go to PSG or Napoli.

If not Big Ange or JN then I can see it being very underwhelming or just very disappointing… any one of something like: Potter, Rodgers, Glasner, Galatier. 😬

I think actually pushing the boat out (unwisely, as it turns out) for Mourinho and Conte has made a lot of people forget where we actually sit in the pecking order of things, to be honest.
To a certain extent I agree but most seem happy with Ange and should be aiming much higher

I've made this comparison myself, as have others, but there's something about seeing it written starkly like this that's really, really grim.

Everton have been, for all intents and purposes, irrelevant for nearly 30 years. Almost never in Europe, a string of rotten managerial choices, bad recruitment, an occasional hopeful season interspersed with half a decade of meh, and finally now they could drop down just after committing to a massive stadium rebuild.

I don't want us to be the Everton of the south any more than I'd want us to do a Leeds.
Except they are a devious bunch who do not play by FFP regs and still are in the shit. Their stadium will still run into problems and they will find things financially difficult. They have been run appallingly. How they managed to snare Ancelotti astounds me. Possibly he might like the idea at Spurs instead of Brazil(?). It does go to show though that managers can be available.

How easy is it for someone who only played football in Australia and who started his coaching in Australia to get themselves into the premier league? Could it be rather than being a late bloomer the pathway to top European jobs is pretty hard?

The simple fact is that whoever comes in now is not one of the club's own first few preferred choices. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

We just have to hope and pray Nuno mk2 works out better this time.

We will get ripped to shreds, even Celtic fans say their defence is ropey. I think next season things could get really bad.. 🥹
