With a 20 year career with championship/football manager behind me I'd agree to do the job for a mere £1.5 million per year.

We can only hope that Nagelsmann is #2 but unfortunately with the way things have gone, he feels like #3…He probably told us that he would not consider a formal interview until we have a competent DoF in place and Levy probably mistook his response as being arrogant…

Does the club not ask the question of how; a football team with the best facilities, best stadium, one of the best strikers, in the best league in the world, located in one of the most popular cities in the world doesn't have managers falling to their knee's at the prospect of managing us?

Can they not see the consistent problem?

Relax, Postecoglu will be ready in due time for it to be a commercial hit when we go on tour. And yes I do think Levy would do such an appointment, not purely on that, but it tips the scales if he is one of two!

Anyone remember we bought that South African player Steven Pienaar from Everton 6 months before the tour to South Africa? No coincidence when it is Levy….

As some more astute posters have already mentioned, Levy needs to swallow his pride and offer Nagelsmann the position in conjunction with Nagelsmann’s preferred choice of DoF before Bayern hire whoever that might be…

Do we even need a manager really?

This is our chance to be at the vanguard of a brand new approach to football where we pick the team through a tombola, the formation based on a mystic Octopus and make substitutions based on who has the best/worst hair.

If they need a name for manager for admin purposes then my vote goes for Manager McManagerface

COYS!
Cba with a Scottish manager

No, because most on the board are either too arrogant or delusional…

It will be in my opinion underwhelming from what I’m hearing. Just can’t see our chairman letting go.
I don’t understand how he just doesn’t get it. Fan opinion has got to be an all time low and from what we’ve heard here he thinks it’ll just blow over by the end of the summer.

An underwhelming appointment, coupled with Poch going to Chelsea, after this shit show off a season. If whoever comes in doesn’t get of to a barnstorming start, the fan reaction he’ll get will make this season’s look like child’s play. The same goes for the performances too - the team is absolutely rotten right now and I’m saying that as someone who is normally a hopeless optimist.

We will just be a very angry, very pessimistic and very cynical fanbase for the foreseeable future. The Everton of the south.

I've made this comparison myself, as have others, but there's something about seeing it written starkly like this that's really, really grim.

Everton have been, for all intents and purposes, irrelevant for nearly 30 years. Almost never in Europe, a string of rotten managerial choices, bad recruitment, an occasional hopeful season interspersed with half a decade of meh, and finally now they could drop down just after committing to a massive stadium rebuild.

I don't want us to be the Everton of the south any more than I'd want us to do a Leeds.

I think he knows fan reaction is going to be strong and negative. I just don’t think he cares.

He clearly thinks it’ll all blow over once we win a couple of games or sell another big manager a dream in 18 months time, and unfortunately he’s probably right. I don’t think we’re strong enough as a fan base tbh - we only ever sing Levy out when we’re losing, and as far as I can tell we’ve barely managed to muster up a protest with more than 50 people.
