When I asked about why, quite rightly pointed out he’s done well everywhere really he’s been at he’s overachieved in a sense or been shot in the foot.Really interesting share mate especially re. Marco Silva as I posted earlier today the people I know at Fulham have said the same about Silva.
Agree, I found it a great read.A great write-up (and a reminder why I still have a sub).
Part that struck me was this quote:
“I’d have to get to know the club’s model and culture,” he says. “You cannot ignore the history of the place where you’re going to work and live. That part is incredibly important.”
Him choosing us would be as important as Spurs selecting him. And that would be that, he’d be there for the long haul.
Though him getting to know our model will probably only end one way
We tried to lighten the load for him this season...his back up scored two league goals equating to zero points.Simply not the case. Statements like this play to the whole media narrative that Spurs are the "Harry Kane" team.
If Kane leaves we arent exactly not going to replace him or play with 10 men are we??
Get Gallardo in our poll quick.
[/QUOTYour gut is playing upMy gut feeling is, Levy will pay the same 20m compensation for Amorim and get him to manage us
How often did his replacement actually replace him though? We tried to lighten the load for him this season...his back up scored two league goals equating to zero points.
He secured 38 points this season for us by his winning or equalizing goals.
I'm convinced we will struggle next season with the current set up at Tottenham Hotspur. A fish rots from the head and we've been rotten for quite sometime.
Hope I'm entirely wrong
This is it tho, thing I worry about is if there’s actually truth to the rumours we are more looking for a head or recruitment rather then a DoF. Essentially someone more focused on players rather than helping to build an overall vision. I’ve probably used the word “vision” more on the last few months then I have in the last 5 years but the lack of direction (and the desire to find a direction) is really quite shocking and we are seeing the results of that yet again.Seconded from me. @Ghost Hardware have really appreciated your knowledge and insight on here, you clearly really know your football. As a 44 year old wally with a hectic job and 2 kids under 9 and very limited time to watch any other football other than Spurs these days I can genuinely say I've learnt some stuff from your posts.
Back to the main topic - it will be interesting to see if any leftfield choices /unexpected ones start to appear in the next week or so. I remember in 2021 we were all surprised by the sudden Fonseca and then Gattuso links.
Clearly getting a DOF in is a very high priority and will have a major impact on the search.....
“curren”?As things stand curren

Was going to say, it sounded like they wanted head of recruitment which would levy still in charge but just being spoon fed who to buy, which sucks because that means that he will just turn em all down and piss that person off until they leave a la Paul Mitchell. Also didn’t we go through that exact situation and ended up with the great nuno. Got a weird weird feeling he ends up just giving it to mason after being turned down by everyone and claims it as a win by promoting within. Plus mason wouldn’t have the nuts to call him out publicly like many manager before him has. This club is so freaking soul draining. It pisses me off to no end that it seems like the only reason he doesn’t want nags is because then he would get choice of DoF and thus increasing leverage and power that levy does not want to give up. The more I read and hear about Levy the more I think he’s just a con man, created this massive persona about himself as being the tough negotiator when in reality it’s just here’s half of what he’s worth and if you don’t accept it I’m goneThis is it tho, thing I worry about is if there’s actually truth to the rumours we are more looking for a head or recruitment rather then a DoF. I really feel like the Levy and the board took so long to come to Slot that now he’s gone they are in shock, panicking and not convinced by anyone. This will no doubt result in us widening the search and interview everyone to a point where 90% of the candidates are fed up and back out whilst we will be left with the last man standing regardless if his style of play matches the remit.
(and thank you for the kind words. It’s nice to know my ramblings make some sense now and again)
Yeah ignore that.“curren”?
He’s on sky bet, bet365, bet fair 25-1 & 40-1Gallardo isn't even on any of the bookies
It’s funny, I was just reading Mason’s quotes on Levy from the press conference before I read your reply. Not that I criticise him for taking the focus away from Levy, he undoubtedly wants the job and is obviously not going to rock the boat. But I think you’re right, if he did get appointed I’m sure he wouldn’t stand up to him at all.Was going to say, it sounded like they wanted head of recruitment which would levy still in charge but just being spoon fed who to buy, which sucks because that means that he will just turn em all down and piss that person off until they leave a la Paul Mitchell. ClassyIf we have the longest managerial search in football history and end up with some fat dork from Scotland I'm going to lose my shit.
You're still ok with a fat dork from Australia though, right? If we have the longest managerial search in football history and end up with some fat dork from Scotland I'm going to lose my shit.
