Doesn’t seem to have been talked about much but WLB indicated that the visions didn’t align. Slot’s plan was to sell Kane & Son and use the money to rebuild. Levy didn’t agree…. end.

Personally I agree with Slot. I think Levy has missed an opportunity to get someone who would finally do the rebuild we’ve needed for quite a while.
I would have hated that, but if that what it took, I'd have sucked it up... Any signs of a plan and leadership is a plus from the next manager.... So as disappointed as I am (if true) Slot not coming... Is Levy actually seeing sense in Kane staying..... but that then leads me to believe that it will be Mason all along..... unless Levy pulls a Poch miracle out the bag.... F**k it's really hard staying interested in anything Spurs at the moment, Slot's potential arrival pulled me back in 😥

Forget about what league managers are coming from or pedigree of trophies they’ve won. We’ve tried that approach for 4 years and look where it has got us. The only things that matter are:
  • Do they play the right football and deploy high tactical acumen and versatility that would translate to this level
  • Are they the right personality to get the fans and squad bought back into a project
  • Can they work with youth and lesser known players to build a successful team to fit this new direction the club want to go
Ange absolutely ticks all three of those boxes. He took mid table teams to title winners in Australia and Japan, is regarded as the best manager in Oz’s national team history and took a negative, dysfunctional Celtic squad and turned it round with signings from the Japanese league and CCV at centre back. He’s the best tactical manager I’ve ever seen in Scotland by a country mile.

If he was 47 he’d have been my first choice from the off. Still think he’s excellent now at 57. I think we’d fall in love with him in 2 weeks.
I thought: 57, yeah that's pretty old.
Then I realised I'm 56 😟

I didn't lose my shit when the Nagelsmann news came out cause it genuinely looked like the club had decided on Slot and had done so a while back so were shutting down other rumours to prepare the fans for that.

Well well.

Fuck Daniel Levy
Fuck Donna Cullen
and fuck any one of these board members who operate with a 2000 era mindest.

Im not even envisioning a new coach now. Nope. Im only hoping that we get a buyout

Nothings certain with Tottenham . What if I was to say he wanted to sell the big boys to recreate the next team and levy said no ! Unfourtanlty if someone wants to come here it doesn’t mean they will always come . Visions have to align . Levy’s seems to have a different vision to every manager out there currently.
If you were to say that ... I´d say it´s high time to bring out the pitchforks and torches.

Still of the opinion that any news of anything at all is about as valuable as a guff in the wind given nobody has finished a football season yet, and nothing at all is going to happen until that's the case.

Time for Levy to step up and take the job. Eventually, he will have to sack himself, it is the only way we can get rid of him.

Jesus wept what a joke of a club we are.

I said it weeks ago that not having a DoF in place was going to cost us and low and behold here we sit with every manager rejecting us left, right and centre.

I genuinely don't see how we get even a decent manager in now, let alone a top one.

Embarrassing.

Guys, the writing was on the wall over the weekend when we found out the Feyenoord Director of Football turned us down. Reading back through this now and that seems key. I suspect the media are a few days behind and it all went tits up at the end of last week.

Back to looking for someone to to tell him how they can make it work with the current players, eh?

Just got the "Stoof, renew your view" email from the club to renew my ST.

And I said quite loudly, to an empty house, HOW ABOUT YOU RENEW YOUR MANAGER, YOU ****.

Very very disappointing to not get a manger I didn't know anything about 6 months ago. However... Not getting slot is not what I'm disappointed about, it's what he supposedly stood for and who he was marketed as and what he'd be good for. A rebuilt, good with youth, progressive attacking attractive football.

Now it's back to the drawing board, or back to another candidate who may have been close, but we'd played our hand with Slot.

Nagelsmann? - wants too much control
Slot? - compensation is too high

Absolutely unwilling to make any compromises for the good of the club.

And yet that's exactly how it reads.
That's on you. I responded to a post stating that our refusal to pay compensation is the only reason we could have failed to get Slot. I pointed out that we can't possibly know the reason and there are numerous reasons why we could have failed to get him.

If you want to twist that into something else, I can't really be responsible for that. If you want to continue to do so, after I've clarified then I have no idea why you'd want to.

Well played, mate! (y)

In my experience anxiety can be closely related to hope, that is that you hope strongly for something to happen (however likely or not), and when your hope is crushed you experience anxiety. Another version of the same would be that you hope something bad should not happen, but it does. It´s the highs and the lows, and the distance of the two points that creates the anxiety, panic, depression, negative thoughts ("It´s the hope that kills you").

Yeah I have learnt recently to separate hope and expectation. I am a wild optimist but I expect nothing and that way I don't fall into the trap of thinking it's unfair or I'm owed. I think when the anxiety comes in, it's from this idea that we need this thing or else and so I try and go to myself or else what? unless the world stops spinning then the anxiety is pointless.

This has Nuno mk2 written all over it.
A good meaty 'I told you so' normally feels much better than this. I have zero clue who the next manager will be, and nor does the club unfortunately. Back to smashing shit at a wall with a tennis racquet after being blindfolded and spun around 20 times, as seems to be Spurs method of conducting any and all footballing operations.
