Does anyone have any insight into the working relationship between Neppe and Nagelsmann?

Saw an article about 777 taking over Everton, so that might make Spors job a bit more interesting going forward.
Role of the DoF at Spurs? Maybe it's about where we want Munn to have his say, with more restriction on the DoF role than Spors liked.

Now that we've been linked to Neppe, it's difficult to want any of the other linked. Although I feel far less qualified to take a stand on DoF than manager. Their job is more hidden and difficult to assess without insight. Very little to go on, and their visual results often depended on what club they are at.

Spors came across very well in a recent interview, but perhaps his position as global director for the clubs owned by 777 group has left him unwilling to focus on just one club, especially given the Everton buyout links.
There must clearly be some benefits of your the club at the top of that groups food chain, being able to scout and move players around, the way Red Bull clubs do.
Steidten I thought had been dismissed in some recent articles. Just goes to show a lot of them are just slinging names up in the hope it’s right.

Weren’t we reportedly interested in Frankfurt DOF Krosche, but was apparently going to turn us down because of interest from Bayern. Unlikely but perhaps that’s his possible replacement.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but so I can feel included in this chat – Ally G's latest podcast chat with Rob Guest had a few joined-up insights on the DoF:
  • Rui Pinto – very much like Paratici, likes to be at the forefront, involved in deals, relies on relationships etc – club might be put off by the current issues in Portugal involving his former club (Benfica) – though no indication he's involved at all.
  • Tim Steidten – Opposite of Pinto, prefers to operate behind the scenes; would apparently be a big leap for him.
  • Reiterates the leading candidates may not have been linked yet.
  • Neither Lee Dykes nor Johannes Spors currently in consideration.
  • Michael Edwards – doesn't know enough about the relationship between him and Spurs, bit of a nothing inclusion but meh.
  • Favours Tottenham Slotspurs.

Mentioned in the last response..I am Israeli so follow the league closely and Maccabi Tel Aviv was a storied franchise that had lost its way and was overtaken by its rival. Cruyff came in and completely changed the club, its philosophy and created systems to modernize the club. From sports science to analytics to recruitment and instilling a philosophy throughout, he single-handedly changed them to be a force in the 2012-2018 period. He eventually coached them too but his main work came as Sporting Director.

I definitely like the idea of having Cruyff in the role. Apart from clearly having belief in a playing philosophy that aligns with the history of the club, he had a decent playing career. I’m sure he’s got knowledge and contacts at all levels of the game that could help us.

This 3rd unamed candidate I'm guessing is employed by a pretty big club otherwise wouldn't be this level of secrecy over who it is.

Is this, leaving the third name blank, the new way of journalists leaving themselves open to being able to say “oh well, I told you there was another name and now it’s happened I can confirm that is the person I was told, but I couldn’t reveal at the time”?

A few of them are doing it now. I’d say they’re doing it because they’re grasping at straws.

Do we know much about this guy?
Wasn't he tipped to be going to Bayern which by extension might have meant Marco Neppe being available I guess.

Was sporting director at Leipzig when Nagelsmann was there so obvious link but I think that ship has passed.

Do we know much about this guy?

Leipzig Sporting Director from 2019 to 2021 and then joined Frankfurt in June 2021.

I would imagine he is a data led guy having worked at Leipzig.

Don’t know much else at the moment, going to look up his signings.
