For those that keep saying that it won't be Edwards because he's worked with Levy before. I'll try rearticulate the point, he left Liverpool because he felt he had achieved everything and wanted a new challenge. This means he was looking for more difficulty, not less. Maybe this is a man who wants to prove himself with an insurmountable challenge.

Same thing occurs to me about the manager search. There may be some out there with just enough self belief, that they feel if they can be the ones to propel us up a level and win something, it would show them as truly elite.
We have the facilities, with the right appointments we may also just keep our world class CF, who himself would I’m sure love to fire us to success and potentially wrestle the PL goalscoring record from Shearer as a one club man, that would be unique in itself.
It’s a challenge, but one that would bring serious acclaim for the DoF and Manager that break out barren spell.

Michael Edwards is by far the standout candidate. Not only has he built a squad that has helped take them from struggling for top 6 in the PL to winning the league but he has done very well at shifting deadwood.

Not convinced he would turn us down either, but he is just too perfect for what we need, that we never seem to go for.

He took a struggling Maccabi Tel Aviv franchise and turned them into an Israeli powerhouse for the years that he was there. He transformed the way that they worked with players, how they analyzed recruits and added sports science from top to bottom. At Barca, the last 18 months, they’ve started to round things out with the team..the financial mess wasn’t his doing.

For what reasons? I genuinely have no idea about his credentials for the role
Mentioned in the last response..I am Israeli so follow the league closely and Maccabi Tel Aviv was a storied franchise that had lost its way and was overtaken by its rival. Cruyff came in and completely changed the club, its philosophy and created systems to modernize the club. From sports science to analytics to recruitment and instilling a philosophy throughout, he single-handedly changed them to be a force in the 2012-2018 period. He eventually coached them too but his main work came as Sporting Director.
