If we had put up a fight and lost 2-1 or 1-0 would people still complain about Levy?
Even though Levy should have done this and that he cant be blamed for the shocking performance we witnessed today.
Today i put the blame directly on the joke of a manager and his spineless, gutless players. For not giving a fuck.
Levy is fast asleep at the wheel. He’s allowed the situation to get to this point - footballers need to be managed properly otherwise things go very wrong very quickly. Everyone involved is responsible for what happened today, but Levy is the one person who (on his own) could and should have prevented it from happening.

Its not just the recruitment...its when these players walk through the door of the Club...

They obviously feel they can get away with not putting in a 100%

But we've had managers that supposedly don't tolerate that. Players like Ndombele were drummed out but lots of those that we're complaining about seem to have impressed both Mourinho and Conte sufficiently.

If we want to be fair, everything seems to have been wrong this season.

Top players sundowning before our eyes (losing Son and Lloris was a huge blow given how important they were just last season).
Too many new signings (there should have been healthy competition for places but nobody seemed happy with that or able to thrive - the squad was probably not managed well)
A very inefficient formation (being overan in midfield was not ideal especially when our attacking outlets were failing and defense was shakey)
Terrible injuries
Terrible fitness/conditioning (we heard about the tough training we were doing pre-season but from the first match they looked exhausted and lethargic)
Terrible atmosphere (Conte's uncertainty and strange outbursts were demonstrably negative [no reactions at any point] plus the fans turning on players thoroughout the entire season surely didn't help)

As I had said last few days I organised something with family so that I couldn't watch the match. as the goal alerts came in i just shook my head and got on having a great day. I've checked out of spurs at minute and I can't believe I've reached that phase but if anyone finds spurs are having a proper negative affect on mood skip the matches it really is worthwhile. Why waste your energy and do that to yourself. Best decision I've made in a long time.

Safe travels to people who went to it, hopefully club does more to repay you than just "we learn and go again" bullshit

There are two major factors here.

The first and definitely worse factor is the poor running of club on player side by Levy and the board.

The second is we never drop players when they’re off form so keep putting them out every game hoping they‘ll somehow be better than previous games.

Dier, Lloris, PEH, Son, they get rolled out every game no matter how poor they’ve played. And Moura kept being bought on as first choice sub??

Forster did well when he came in but then dropped straight away, Danjuma has looked positive and would have freshened things up and we’ve not tried any alternatives to Dier - granted this is also down to shit recruitment at centre back but we could have even changed back three to have Romero in middle and tell other two centre backs to sit deeper.

If a player is playing shit they need to be benched and work to get back in side, not keep playing them in hope of the, hitting some form.
Add Kulusevski to this too.

Not saying Kulu or Son couldn't find form again under a new manager, but today highlighted how crazy it is that we had 6 completely out of form players all starting

I said before the game it could be a 253 formation. It was such a bad choice to have Perisic and Porro play full back especially when Kulusevski and Son don't do a great job to defend in front. Also putting Sarr as the deepest in midfield was crazy, he looked totally out of place. Awful from Stellini.

I wouldn't mind going back 4 again if Emerson and Davies are back but Skipp should be the deeper midfielder. Also drop Son and Kulusevski for Danjuma and Richarlison. This next game is one where we need a lot of changes now.

Bring Harry in for the rest of the season. Tell them to run about a bit but at least try and play some attacking football.
Wouldn't be surprised if some of them are tired of the coaching amd lack of attacking strategy and have almost given up.

Not acceptable but I do wonder of a coach who comes in and lets them play for 6 games may lift morale a bit

😂😂😂😂 Carragher

Jamie Carragher wrote on social media: "Newcastle are brilliant, they have been all season. Tottenham are a disgrace! How have they gone to a back four for the first time this season, with [Pedro] Porro a full-back that can't defend and [Ivan] Perisic who is a winger? Get a proper manager in right now, not Conte's mate."
He’s spot on

Don't fall into the Simon Jordan way of looking at it.

It was a gutless performance and the coach is well in the deep end.

But how long have we been sat here saying that this has been coming?

Years of neglect have led us here and it stems from one person's decsions or indecision or lack of strategy.

He appoints these coaches and supposedly understands the risks.

He is the one who ignores coaches, who he hired, and signs players not preferred

4 at the back with two WBs out of position at FB (let's be honest, Perisic is never going to be comfortable at LB), leaving Romero and Dier (who has always looked more comfortable in a back 3) pretty exposed. I'd be feeling far happier with this formation change if we had Emerson & Davies at FB.
Well I was right to be concerned. 🤦‍♂️

Turned off at 3-0. Genuinely felt quite sick. I’ve kind of sleepwalked through this season in a daze but that was a bit of a bucket of water to how bad we are.

It was definitely over because Stellini tactically can only continue what was already well and truly found out, and I've seen the players effort levels in the last few weeks - they've mentally packed up with a rudderless ship, have stopped giving there all, and aren't going to switch back on now.

It is no surprise to anyone we got smashed today, the first 20 mins were extraordinary obviously but a dead team against one bang up for it wanting CL was always likely to be pretty grim viewing.

I don't accept anything ffs. I'd keep about 3 players in the entire squad. But I save myself unnecessary aggro or "surprise" by accepting that this season has been dead for a few weeks now.

Conte gave up and did a runner. The board obviously wanted to get through to May with him, then decided no to an interim and are stuck now because if the guy they want isn't coming till the summer -which all signs point to - then this is dead time we're just playing out. Stellini doesn't have the answers. Installing Poch or some "high press high possession" manager right now would do zero with a lazy fucker front three that don't press, turgid plodder centre mids, and a defence that can't push up or play the ball out. Getting Redknapp or some interim, with zero authortiy, will make zero difference to these remaining weeks. It's over now, finito, done with.

I'm already thinking about 23/24.
Isn't that what we do this time each year, thinking about the next season?

Watched the game late so haven’t read any comments. I’m sure many criticized Stellini and the coaching staff but this defeat is down to the players. Watch those first 5 goals again and nobody gets near a Newcastle player. No pressing, no marking, no tracking runners, no spirit, no fight, no commitment. No personal pride. What was the most damning thing was that as those 5 goals were going in I didn’t see any player having a go at the others trying to get us to get our act together. They just don’t care.
You can (rightly) criticize Mourinho and Conte for their tenure at Tottenham but it’s hard to disagree with their comments about our players.
Interesting to see the difference between us and Newcastle as a club. Oil money or not(and they haven’t spent that much) they are a club who from top to bottom are organized with a clear plan that everyone buys into. We meanwhile are a shambles of a club from top to bottom. This is what happens when those at the top do not have a clear long term plan for the club and just continually react to events as they happen.

It's worse than that. All the ITKs behind the scenes are telling us the names of players that Levy wants to go after this summer so we don't miss out on a bargain. It doesn't matter if they 'fit" and we currently have neither a manager or DoF to define any sort of system.
If I wasn't so familiar with Levy's MO, I would accuse you of taking the piss.

I think it's inexcusable that the players can't play out of pride. I can't believe I still have to watch some of these players decide when they're interested.

We ALL know Stellini is out of his depth. Conte basically gave up, and Stellini (who had good relationships with players) said he would stick around when he could have left as well. Playing on pride alone today with no manager would get you a better result than we saw.

I just find it unfair that Stellini is now becoming the new scapegoat when he's basically put himself in a bad position to try and will the club over the line to another 4th placed miracle. We know he's not the solution, he's just trying to help out and the players said "nah, we'll wait til next year" - where is the personal pride or will?
