I see Sly Sports (deliberate) are running the usual bollocks story about poor results following a stadium move.

They point to West Ham and Arsenal dropping more points after moving, ignoring the fact they went from tight old fashioned stadiums to generic big bowls. They seem to ignore the fact we're essentially going the other way after almost 2 seasons at Wembley.
Its unlikely we'll ever go unbeaten at home again, that's not the norm.

If they want a more accurate comparison, they need to look outside of the PL and at Juventus, who, like us, moved from a gigantic shitty bowl to a purpose built, smaller stadium of their own.
They did go unbeaten in their first season there winning 13 and drawing 6.
Our situation is also different because we're moving in during the season. Often times it's difficult to start a new season at a new stadium when the tempo is typically slow anyway. The lack of atmosphere at those grounds did nothing to help lift it. One thing I am happy about though is playing away in our next game because I would worry about playing our first game straight after an international break.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that till recently we had best away record in Europe. I think Wembley has toughened us up and in the long term will be a benefit. I think this team has almost become immune to its surroundings. Impossible to see how this move could be a negative.
I think that has more to do with the pitch size. We made the most out of the smaller WHL pitch and it suited our pressing game but it's difficult to then go away to a larger pitch. At Wembley we have had to change our style for the larger pitch home or away. More clubs have these larger pitches now as will our new stadium so we've had to adapt our play under Poch. It's a bit of a shame really because I loved the way we played on the WHL pitch. We went from struggling to break teams down with less space to pressing teams quickly and getting in on goal as soon as we won it. We turned the smaller pitch size into our advantage.

One thing that could work still however is the tighter feeling of the new stadium compared to Wembley. Often times the pitch can feel smaller just because the stands are closer to the pitch. It gives the perception that there's less space to play in. I remember when Barca played Chelsea in the CL and they spoke about how Stamford Bridge was only 2x1 metre smaller than Nou Camp. Yet the open feel of Nou Camp always makes it seem like it's much bigger. I think with less run off and the improved atmosphere of the new ground, along with the players being used to the pitch size, we could hopefully settle quickly.

The Beavertown stuff will be more like that but it's certainly not rubbish. @TottenhamMattSpur was just pointing out that trying to sell Heineken for £5.50/pint wouldn't have encouraged people to arrive early and stay late.

Fair enough.

Amstel is a nice beer and I was shocked to see the £4 a pint price. Thank god for no more shitty bottles of Carlsberg!

To be fair, beer is the only thing we’re not getting mugged off for in the whole new stadium!

£1.50 for a packet of crisp is criminal though?
No more than you deserve if you buy crisps at a football ground (likewise £2.50 for a soft drink and £2 for a hot drink).

Odd that a chicken balti pie is £1 more than the other pies.

Nice surprise from the boy the other day. Got me a ticket for Sunday. Lower North so here's hoping that the South stand has a few in. Should be quite a sight if it has.

As is £2 for a bottle of water.

I don’t know, but I presume like Wembley you are not allowed to take any bottles of water etc in with you?

Going by the familiarsation day back in December you're not. But by law they do have to give you tap water for free anywhere they're serving alcohol.

You could always try emailing or phoning the ticket office and see if they are going to go general sale but at the moment members only. Customer service at Spurs not that great when I asked to be moved at Wembley in the first season they told me didn't have any available seats . So about 50000 St's and Wembley st's out of 90000 seats and they didn't have enough seats available !!!!
I e-mailed Donna Cullen and somebody phoned me the following day. Very pleasant lady who explained things and said she would get back and let me know if/when tickets would go on general sale. Haven't heard from her since though. Maybe they won't go on GS so we'll miss out.
Think I'll wait for next season and get mrs a hotspur membership then try to buy cat c or b. Can't imagine cat a games will go past ST and hotspur +. Maybe I'll upgrade to that level, should stand a slightly better chance.

So, thoughts on next season. If I want to stand any chance of getting a ticket do I need to become a member?

Yes, perhaps I should have been more specific. I meant Wembley and almost every other football ground charge £5.50 for horrible lager.
Spurs have figured out that selling better beer for less will sell more beer for longer.

So looking at the security arches as you go in I can't help wondering if we have to go through them on the way out. I appreciate we won't have to be scanned but it seems to me that we will all have to walk out in line as we leave and that could lead to some difficulty if some people are in more of a hurry than others.

Doubt it as they only take about 30 mins to put out and away.

They was practicing this a few weeks back.
