Does this continue to point toward no naming rights? Or at least that any sponsorship isn't won't name the stadium?

I think so, from the website's press release:

Our new stadium will currently be known as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the ‘A’ of the word ‘Stadium’ stylised to create an arrow pointing north, to represent our proud North London heritage.

I wonder if Levy has seen this as an opportunity to further build the Spurs brand. NFL games played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, puts our name on people's lips and in their minds rather than another company.

It's possible, a lot of the media regarding the stadium as been about placing Tottenham as a landmark within London, calling it THS would further cement that idea.

In other words, theres still a good chance the stadium will not be ready.

Yep. That’s not good for the NFL. Spending so much money on getting the ground ready for it and then not to be ready for their first game. That wouldn’t be a good look. That tweet could just be a fire across the bows though from the NFL.

It must be a combination of sponsors not wanting to put their name to something that could well receive “bad press” for not finishing on time. Coupled with Levy demanding a high fee.

There’s also not that many multi use stadiums just built looking to sell naming rights at the moment, companies will need to see value first before handing over a serious amount of money.

Or it could be Levy looking to do something similar to Wembley with the EE sponsorship possibly.

Personally I think THS is a boring name and that’s probably why they chose it. It’s one people would forget if a sponsor took over and the name was changed to the “HSBC ARENA”

I’m sure I read somewhere that stadiums couldn’t have a sponsor name for the champions league. So the stadium would always needed to have a pretty standard name alongside a sponsors name for other competitions.
