The NFL's most recent 'big' announcement (a sponsorship deal with Hyundai a couple of weeks ago) was released at 3pm UK time (7am Pacific, 10am Eastern). Might be a reasonable guide as to when we might expect to hear anything.

The Goat has said there would be a 'sting in the tail' regarding the stadium announcement. Could this be MK dons being announced, after all that has been said this last week regarding Wembley?

how anyone is expected to work today as we await this news is beyond me

How will we react if the announcement is simply that two or three games a year will be played at the new stadium? Will we be happy, content, or disappointed?

I ask because we do seem always to be setting ourselves up for a fall, getting our hopes up to levels that means reality regularly feels like shit. I'm finding it hard to believe that this will be a world-changing announcement. A little bit of reasonably good news would be nice, but I fear it may be desperately disappointing for some.

That seems the most likely bit of unpopular news that could come along with the announcement, though I guess it could also be a delay in the proposed move in date and/or an extra year playing away from Tottenham.

I think confirmation of some sort of official association with the NFL would be fine. I'm not expecting an announcement about some bottomless pit of money suddenly becoming available.

For me, the significance of a partnership with the NFL would be the commercial opportunities it would open up for the future. It would be a sizeable step towards a lucrative naming rights deal.

For American NFL fans this is not something they're going to care about. Realistically, they don't care which stadium on the other side of the World their matches are played in - they're just pissed off that they are here in the first place. Today's announcement is not going to be a franchise moving here, or a league expansion. This announcement is just for the UK fanbase, so will be at a time that suits the UK.

The last NFL UK announcement about the International Series (the 2015 matches) was also made at 3pm UK time. If there is an announcement today, I expect it to be then.

I think that may be in relation to the ITK's comment about 'the pitch being fine'. Despite all of the speculation, we may not end up having a retractable pitch and have to share the playing surface with the NFL. That really would be a 'sting in the tail' looking at what a debacle Wembley was.

I'm expecting the sting to be 2 years away due to the complexity of the works on elements such as the sliding pitch. I am also expecting it to be MK. I don't think MK alone will be considered 'a sting' as we're all already half expecting it.

I think it'll be hard to really get building with the existing stadium in situ and in use too, so it does make sense.

The issue with the NFL deal to me is the potential for our stadium to become even more 'neutral' and less about Spurs. Arsenal had the issue with their stadium feeling generic and it has taken them a long time to build the association. The last thing we need is a contract that says there can't be any THFC logos except in places where they can be easily covered or swapped.

No retractable pitch would be a blow, but the Wembley pitch problems weren't really about the NFL. The original pitch just wasn't fit for purpose.

We'll end up sharing with the goons, i'm still of the onion that this NFL stuff is/was a bargaining chip to hit the FA with so we could get Wembley on the cheap in exchange we don't nick all the NFL games from their pockets.

Also am i the only the one who believes the Chavs timing RE: Wembley is fairly "convenient" the sort of "convenient" that points towards them having been funding Archway too.

I dunno, I think that is a bit of a leap, don't know what Chelsea would have to gain that would make it worth their while funding Archway. I met the owner of Valentinos before he sold it and his attitude was that he wanted to get as much as he could from Spurs and that was his retirement, I suspect that the Archway lot had a similar outlook, just took it too far.

I think it will be even harder for Chelsea to get planning permission in such an important location when compared with us, I think they are going to have a real slog to get their plans through. The Wembley stuff could be a plant, but at the same time, how silly will Spurs look if Chelsea do get a move to Wembley and it happens after we've finished building but didn't go to Wembley? It's a risky game of poker to be playing and I can only think that Levy is working on the basis that fans have short memories and will be so happy with the new Stadium and being back home that we won't care too much that Chelsea went there and we didn't.

I read this on news now a few weeks ago, seems the rumour was they were against a retractable pitch

What does it matter to them though, they wouldn't be the ground staff having to do anything, it's our stadium so our people would unplug our pitch and plug their stupid plastic jobbie in it's place, all they have to do is pay the fee and turn up.
