I imagine they singed a contract with Take That's production company many months ago before they knew they'd be int he final. Also, Anfield doesn't really have great video screens or a retractable pitch so they can't turn things round like us.
I think you missed my point. Football stadia therefore football fans should come first. Signing a contract without (a) consdidering that you may be in a cup final (All clubs knew of the dates before hand) and (b) doing said contract without a proviso saying that contract is void if stadium was needed for a competitive match, is very negligent in my book, cheap Lawyers? Nothing to do with modern stadium or retractable pitch.

They have not got a competitive match at the stadium.
It isn't negligent they made a business decision. You may disagree with their thinking but you can't say they were wrong to make it. At least not with any credibility.

Remind me the last time an English club sold tickets to watch a game on TV? Our new stadium makes it viable, but if I was a bin dipper I’d rather be in the pub than Anfield.

The weird thing is that apparently they booked some 9k arena in Liverpool 6 months ago. So they were fully aware of the possibility seems very odd they are staging concerts anyway. Seems a lot more hassle than it’s worth to them. Will have to put down a new pitch and I doubt they’d make more than £1m from it.

They had 40k there last season.

Well this argument just confirms that the club puts financial and commercial interest before the fans.

The decision was made months ago. They didn't know if they'd be in the final or not. So they took the sure money. Which will most likely help to pay the players wages.

This needs to be addressed over the summer. Embarrassing

Im not saying that it’s not about standing but I saw a couple stewards in the south writing stuff on notepads and spoke to a family at one point writing stuff down and they weren’t standing

What is embarrassing? The fact that they are standing when they shouldnt? Or the fact that the Steward has to be taking notes

The whole of the lower Park Lane was pretty much standing. They can't ban them all! Re-think needed over the summer...

It's sort of expected that the lower Park Lane will be standing as it was sold as the future standing area. If people want to stand then that's where they should be. Otherwise they should sit down so everyone else can see.

What is embarrassing is the number of people who left there seats at 35mins!!! onwards to go to the bar and not come out till 50ish mins

Not being funny but I went down to the loo at the halftime whistle and only got back to my seat just before the 2nd half and that was without grub or a drink

The toilet queues are embarrassing. At the old whl I never left before the half time whistle but now you have to just to not queue for 20 mins at half time.

I spoke to a couple of the stewards at the back of the South Stand after watching this guy and his posse waving his notebook in someone's face after one request to sit down on the 15 minute mark.

Even the stewards were saying that they don't understand the approach to this as it has changed with every game and they are now seeing the impact that the inconsistency is having. The club have ballsed the stewarding of the new ground up completely, and whilst the design is phenomenal the South stand particularly isn't cut out for crowd control.

Threats, a mob handed approach and a complete lack of understanding of a game of football will just make things worse if not addressed.
