Deep down every other top 6 must be shitting themselves about us. Imagine if over the next 10 years Everton started getting better and better. Then started breaking top 3 doing well in CL. The thing is if Everton were doing that while still at goodison part of you would think it’s just a purple patch. But if they then backed it up with a £1bn stadium I’d be majorly concerned. The final piece is a serious transfer spend.

This is how I've seen it all along:-
"The final piece is a serious transfer spend"
If you look at it from a business perspective without this the whole excercise makes no sense whatsoever, if this isn't the case what was the point? We might as well have stayed as were and I'm sure Daniel Levy has a pretty good grasp on business.
Moreover if you look at it from a football perspective without this the whole excercise makes no sense whatsoever, if this isn't the case what was the point? We might as well have stayed as were and I'm sure Daniel Levy has a pretty good grasp on football.
I am sure the players are expecting incoming quality this summer and without it we should expect outgoing quality next summer.

I'm thinking the same thing. Trouble is, I just don't have faith in the club transfer wise at the moment so I'll believe it when I see it.

Increased investment in the team is actually a business necessity now. I wrote a long piece about this on TFC, but the main point is that the club have invested huge amounts of cash on multiple facilities, and need to ensure that the team attracts large attendance figures to cover costs.

The bar, restaurants, extreme sports centre, and all the other things will accrue large costs in wages for staff, security, and maintenance. The Northumberland Project is a commitment to paying out a lot of money, so to run at a profit ENIC will need fans turning up in large numbers. The best way to ensure that is for the club to stay competitive. If we slip down the table and attendance drops to 35-40k, the club will run into trouble. Keep people packing out the stadium and there will be significant net profit.

I like your optimism but the only way the other teams will be shitting themselves is when we start to do this bit.

I have to say, the staff at our new ground seem a million times better than what we experienced at Wembley. Helpful, friendly etc
The bar staff at Wembley were laughably shite! Proper miserable

I know it’s only one game but still, something I noticed

I agree that we have to maintain on field success for it all to be worthwhile. We’ve got away with it this season but they aren’t stupid they know that won’t wash again. There’s probably an algorithm to work it out. But I’m sure from this point on field success will only create more wealth commercially in attracting bigger sponsorship deals. Would be utterly pointless to let us slip back to a 6th placed team. The next step is winning stuff and getting our social media following to the same levels as the others.

So the new narrative seems to be "Spurs must have CL football in order to pay for their new ground". As if Levy would bet the farm on something that is so difficult to consistently achieve and that we didn't even have when the project began.

It’s nonsense. And if you hear Gooners talk about clauses in loan agreements such as no CL increases interest points, that’s nonsense too.

I don't know if this has already been covered in here, but is it true that the away changing rooms are really grotty and cramped?

Most away changing rooms are basic

What I want to know is - have there been any pics of the NFL dressing rooms and areas? or, as I suspect, they arent complete yet and wasnt the priority until the summer?

Agree with this as It makes business sense - this stadium demands a decent team.

Actually just saw Swiss ramble financial breakdown. Arsenal made £38m from teaching EL semi final. United made £40m going out CL group stage.

On the subject of tickets to get in to our lovely stadium I thought I would join the donut queue this morning for Brighton , not going to buy a ticket but just to have a look. I got in spot on 10 o'clock , very few of the blocks were lit up with available tickets. Block with the most tickets was 113 probably about 200 available had a quick scan around the other blocks and seats available in each were very few . I have seen it stated that about 1000 seats are available on Hotspur + day , I would say it was far less than that.
