Overall impression was just wow, it really is a remarkable stadium. It really struck me like a scene from Independence Day when I first caught a glimpse, it is just so huge and shiny.
Only negatives were the concourses, very narrow in parts, and in those they have occasionally put a bar which means when people queue there is no room to get around, was literal gridlock in some places. Also some odd instances when on level 4 you have to go down to level one to go up a different staircase to level 5. Hopefully when novelty of stadium wears off these will be non issues. Biggest plus was that getting home by car didn’t feel much worse than it used to, was still home before 11

On tv the atmosphere did seem a little flat - not helped by a nervy game. I also found myself emotionally exhausted after a long stadium journey!

I think the North Stand might be the unsung hero, all the hype is around the single tier but the North is steeper and looks more intimidating to me. Add in a portion of the South Stand wanting to be ‘part of the atmosphere’ not realising that they are meant to CREATE the atmosphere and I wonder if the North might in time become the focal point...

I chose the Paxton because of its similarities to the old Park Lane. Cheaper seats, proximity to the away fans, etc. It was a gamble, time will tell whether it pays off.

I think everyone was a bit nervy last night. Apart from our form there was the fear of losing 1st game in new stadium. Plus palace would not normally be a great atmosphere. It’s a real shame the CL game is city. Ajax or Porto would have been great.

I'm sat in the North/East corner and was pleasantly surprised. There are people in this corner of the ground that want to sing! When the atmosphere got going last night it felt like almost three sides of the ground were singing in unison.

Sadly nerves/frustration set in well before the end of the 1st half, and the atmosphere didn't really recover, even when our goals came.

For me the acoustics, views and general feel of the stadium bowl are spot on. It feels like home. Problem is, us Spurs fans have always had form for getting quiet and anxious when the team is not playing at 100%. A new stadium was never going to change that.

My only gripes with the ground were: 1. the shocking incompetence of those running the bars / food outlets (beer taps not working, all food sold out 45 mins before kick off), and 2. the horrific toilet queues in my area. I thought those were going to be a thing of the past!

It was a stream from American coverage, which for some reason had that **** Dixon on. He was making little comments about the crowd at various points.

It was probably just dampened by the broadcaster, or maybe I expected too much. I was hoping for the sort of noise that couldn't be ignored. I don't think that Eastern European fanaticism would be possible in England
Eastern European? Dortmund, who we've attempted to emulate with the wall are hardly eastern European!

Was obviously mistaken by thinking what I had written may be of general interest or useful in some way :(. Obviously not wanted or needed. It was all great. Last thing I’ll write on it as this is an appreciation thread and people will get bored.

I thought it was interesting to read a slightly different take on the stadium. I'd like to hear what you think at the end of the season.

Absolutely blown away by the stadium. Was really worried about the view as I’m quite far back in west upper but it’s brilliant. It’s so steep!

We are so lucky to have this as a home ground!

My gripes would be, concourse is a bit narrow?! Wembley much wider. Also, complete lack of seating in the concourse. Maybe I was spoilt by Club Wembley but nowhere in NWHL to sit, eat and drink?! Strange. In this day and age how can you not make it comfortable for punters. Standing whilst drinking and eating is just poor. I can’t see how people will be making this and pre and post entertainment destination with no seats.

Walk and queue back to seven sisters was long. I’m going to look at alternative ways of getting home. Already dreading city on Tuesday as that’s an 8pm kick off.

I think I'm going to go to Tottenham Hale instead. No chance I want to face an evening game in that queue for Seven Sisters again. Ive never walked to Tottenham Hale at night though, is it safe I wonder?

walked that way last night. There's a steady flow of people walking the same way. Definitely safe
