the atmosphere at Wembley even when we have had a full house won't be anything like the wall of noise we should make, which is classed as the 12th man

But WHL’s atmosphere wasn’t always great. There’s been many games in recent times where it’s been deadly silent.

The excitement of being in the new stadium will help but if everyone expects it to be a continuous wall of noise then I think they will be left disappointed.

Hopefully people’s disappointment of being at Wembley for so long and how that felt atmosphere wise will change people’s views on making at atmosphere at the new ground. That’s what I’m hoping anyway.

The area at the top of the north stand is called Paxton Terrace. Still the Paxton Tottenham.

Well Paxton still exists technically. Don’t the club refer to the space between Lilywhite House and the Stadium as Paxton something or the other?

The north stand is the Paxton, the East is the Shelf and the wall is the Park Lane. As for the West Stand call it the High Road for all I care. Sorted.

This. Not sure why it’s being debated so much.

We’ve built a new stadium almost exactly on the same footprint as WHL, with the club keen to preserve the heritage of WHL with deliberate touches here and there. Fans who’ve been have also said it has the feel of a new and improved WHL.

So why wouldn’t we want to keep the same references for each stand?

And the songs already exist. It may be strange for a former Paxtonite to sing we are the Park Lane for the first game or so but it doesn’t last long. We are all Spurs.

that's what the club built it for, lets hope those standing in it create it.

I totally agree about the old atmosphere in the old stadium. unfortunately I believe all stadiums have suffered in a sense with the all seater, and will be effected due to anxiety. some clubs sound loader than others and it is usually the mid table clubs that have better atmosphere compared to others. even some of those at the bottom have better atmosphere's, but when the scouse is rocking it is loud (well it was when I went there though those days it was not all seater)

To get a real atmosphere you need to get more younger fans in. Unfortunately the pricing at the new stadium will still see a largely older crowd.

well anyone that expected it to be as cheap as the old stadium didn't do enough thinking, and unfortunately the cost going up through Brexit has to be met by someone. like any new stadium there will be increase in prices.

what also kills the atmosphere is to many people on there phones or yapping about what happened in east enders last week:cautious:

As far as not playing in there until next season It's worth bearing in mind that it's a multi-use stadium so shouldn't be standing empty during the Summer.

I'd rather the 'big' opening was a Cat C football game at the end of the season than a concert in the Summer.

Not so much of the largely, ok I can do a bit of weight but there's no need to be rude.

I actually like the seats having a cup holder on the back. I only noticed recently although not sure if they all have them. That has really sold the stadium for me.

As for the atmosphere I've always thought the park lane was consistent. It seems to lack noise across the other side. I do think the single tier and standing rails (that everyone will stand up in regardless of whether it gets approved in future) will make it louder than ever. Hopefully it filters across to the other stands.

because a ST isn't categorised per match. they only do that to members. a category C for a member will be in the £55 range, Cat B £65, and Cat A will be around the £70-£75. as a ST holder you receive a discount and a guaranteed seat
If I receive a discount, and therefore am being refunded a discount, why am I therefore not being offered the seat back at a discount too?

Cup holders only in the premium seats, I looked out for that at the fan familiarisation day - Shame to be honest I have got used to them in Club Wembley.

A season ticket is for 19 matches all at the same price plus the convenience of not having to buy your ticket every game plus preferential treatment for cup games domestic and European so the refund is for one nineteenth of that, personally I am happier with that than I would have been with them just issuing me a ticket to every game and keeping my money

I do think the club's plans for getting in fans before the game to meet up, socialise, have a couple before taking their seats is a good idea though. Bringing a part of the match day experience in house is clever. Although i do hope that places like the Antwerp Arms etc don't lose too much business either.

The question is whether they keep pints at £4 a go, quite a lot of the wholesale prices on hops etc have gone up recently.

Whilst it's a given that the naming rights to the ground will be sold to some multinational in the coming months, it would be nice to have some names we can identify with for the individual stands (I appreciate it's no longer 4 sides!)
The North end could still be known as the "Paxton" which would evoke memories of the old WHL.
Liverpool have named one of their stands the "Sir Kenny Dalglish" stand as a huge mark of respect to one of their best ever players and managers.
What about naming the south stand the Bill Nicholson stand? I think it would be nice to say "my seat is in the Bill Nick stand/end"
I would not want to see any reference to the word "Kop" though.

The Premier League want Tottenham to play at least five League games at their new stadium this season or stay at Wembley for the rest of the campaign.

Spurs announced another delay to the £1billion project yesterday as it was confirmed the north London derby against Arsenal on March 2 will now take place at the national stadium.

Despite warnings from Metropolitan Police chiefs, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was hopeful of moving the club into their new home at the beginning of next month but various systems are yet to receive an official safety certificate, which is required before two stadium test events can be organised.

Standard Sport understands conversations between the Premier League and senior figures at the club have taken place over identifying a specific target to work towards rather than updating on a game-by-game basis. Spurs insist that there has been no stipulation of five matches by the Premier League.

The League remain sympathetic to Spurs’s position and are yet to issue a formal ultimatum, partly because they want to create an environment in which other clubs can build new stadia without fear of undue pressure.

However, the setbacks have dragged on for months and the League have indicated a preference for a significant portion of the season to be played at the new stadium rather than just one or two matches near the end of the campaign.

There has been opposition from some clubs to Tottenham being allowed to play at two different home venues in the same season, although only Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has gone public with his disappointment.

The club are doing everything to ensure the stadium is ready for the final five games.

The League recognise that Tottenham are dictated to some extent by circumstances beyond their control. After the Arsenal game, they are due to host Crystal Palace on March 17, although that match will be postponed if Roy Hodgson’s side beat Doncaster in the FA Cup fifth round next weekend.

Brighton are the next visitors on April 6, but they are also still in the FA Cup and the semi-finals are due to be played at Wembley that weekend.

As the fixture list stands, Palace would be the fifth remaining home game and therefore the deadline to move as determined by the Premier League’s latest guidance.

But if that game is rescheduled to later in the season, Brighton becomes the fifth of their five remaining League home games and Spurs would therefore have another three weeks in which to move to their new stadium.
