The 2 original test events were going to be an academy game and a legions game.
If the academy game is being switched with a ladies game, will the other game still be the Legions Vs Bayern Munich Legends
No idea if that game was just postponed, or moves
oh ffs I never said levy lied. I’m not being negative. I’m just pointing out that in the last year Levy has said it would be ready on 3 or 4 occasions. And he was wrong every time.
And you probably wonder why you have no credibility on this forum.....Honestly I’m done on this. It’s been a pack of lies from the club for months. If you chose to believe Levy now then good for you.
@chrissivad , my memory isn't the best. Am I right in thinking, some time ago, we actually got a bit of ITK that stated/suggested that one of the test events would indeed be a ladies game?
one of the original test events or a new test event?
The 2 original text events were:
Monday 27 August – Test Event One – Academy fixture, kick-off 2pm
Saturday 1 September – Test Event Two – Tottenham Hotspur Legends v Bayern Munich Legends, kick-off 2pm
That was from the club before the fire alarm issue
I think, before any test events were initially reported or spoken about.
I don't know why, but I'm sure I remember someone posting a bit of ITK that suggested we'd use a ladies game as a test event, and it was pretty well received on here.
I do remember some talk of an academy or ladies game being used as a test event, if there was any ITK i must have missed it.
First team friendly away on 4th August would suggest the test event on 5th will not feature first team players. May well be the rumoured ladies fixture.
I may be slightly confused (no shit Sherlock). I tried the search facility and, on page 1547, found this....
So it looks as though it was something that was being rumoured, rather than ITK.
Not sure it’s been said anywhere on here but it’s being said on site that the first test event (Sunday 5th August) will be Woman’s football.
no, there was talk on site that it was going to be a ladies game....
Honestly I’m done on this. It’s been a pack of lies from the club for months. If you chose to believe Levy now then good for you.
And what would Levy have got out of lying? This is what I don't get about this absurd theory. Levy 100% would want this stadium open right now. Can't imagine he's knocking one out paying over budget for a delayed stadium and then renting another one. He has no gain to make from lying.Honestly I’m done on this. I think that would be great, both for the ladies & those lucky enough to be able to go.
I can't proclaim to watch much ladies football, but I doubt they get many opportunities to play in front of the amount of people that would want to be part of such a test event? And I'd imagine the excitement/buzz around such an occasion would also be something they wouldn't necessarily get many opportunities to experience first hand?
I should point out that this IS a very ignorant post because, as I admit, I can't proclaim to watch a lot of ladies footy. So I can only apologise if anyone is somewhat offended by any of my comments.

If Mace & Co. were telling him it was going to be ready, hence him publicly saying it would be ready, who is he to disbelieve them? What was he supposed to say when people asked him? "Our contractors have said it would be ready but I reckon that's a load of old bollocks with my 0 experience in construction" or "They've said it'll be ready but coys200 is having serious doubts so draw your own conclusions"
Errrm, seriously?I’m stunned by the number of people that think it is plausible that Levy/Tottenham would keep a finished stadium closed for over a month while waiting for a televised game for the first match.
Even ignoring financial consideration (and financial considerations alone are more than enough) and logistical considerations, it makes no sense.
The negative publicity of not opening the stadium for another month will clearly far outweigh any additional positive publicity of having the first game on tv. By a mile. This is so obviously that I can’t believe anyone could think otherwise.
