The Lille stadium has a sliding pitch, with the seam going right through the halfway line. Doesn't seem to cause any issues.

Good news for the Olympic stadium, it has been chosen to hold a couple of games in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
The stadiums dimensions caused no problem for minimum boundary requirements unsurprisingly.

It is hoped this could pave the way for other big sporting events like The British Open and maybe taking over from Silverstone in holding the British Grand Prix.

So I'm assuming when a big divot come out of the pitch, they're probably a pain to replace properly.

Nah, Bilic usually just subs Andy Carroll off once he thinks his arms and legs are in danger of falling off. Not sure this is the right thread for this though.

I was on the stadium tour today....it was mentioned that the club are hoping to organise it that season ticket holders in the Shelf Side and the Park Lane will be put in the the new single tier South Stand Kop to help enhance the atmosphere....I'm pretty certain they said it will be the closest stand to the pitch too.

The height of the new stadium will be twice as high as the current one.

Also said that Nike will be the new kit supplier but I believe that is pretty much already known, if not already revealed.

Also one of the blonde receptionists is fit (y)

Sorry if any of the above has been written already in the thread, I've not looked through it recently.

I forgot to mention when I was on the stadium tour that we was told that the new ground has the required license to hold international matches and UEFA finals (both Champions League and Europa League finals) if we chose to bid for those, along with concerts and other sports like boxing and obviously NFL.

The roof walk over the stadium will be on glass so you can see the ground below you.

When you're down by the dugout the pitch noticely has a 4 foot camber (for drainage purposes) The pitch looks flat as a pancake on tv.

The ground will pretty much be demolished within hours of the Man United game....so if we were to win a trophy there will no parade inside as it will be long vanquished.

There will be a hard hat tour of the new stadium throughout the rest of the construction.

If any of you get chance to go on the stadium tour in its final weeks I definitely recommend it, I imagine more information will be provided in the passing weeks by the tour guides. There was between 40 and 50 people on my tour, which was more than I was expecting on a Thursday afternoon including people from Canada, Germany, Korea, Texas and Birmingham (that'll be me)

Last and only other time I was at the Lane was when we played Bilbao in a pre-season match in August 2011...the same day of the riots starting : (

Unfortunately my two attempts of stealth photography in regards to the 'Fit' receptionist were thwarted...one blurred due to panic, thinking I was being too obvious, moving my phone as I took it and the other somebody walking right in front as I took the shot...it was clear, precise, going top corner then bang someone from the group put in the block, denied.
For confirmation both blonde receptionists working that day are pretty, just the one to my left when facing the desk ticked every box....not sure what happens to their job when the old ground goes goes? They'll have no desk!

I will upload some photo's from the day in the near future.

I only came in to mention the one thing about the possible hosting of European finals and got carried away.

Now this is the part he was pulling your chain:

That is laughable bullshit. You could dry that one out and fertilise the 3 sections of the new retractable pitch for the next 5 seasons at the new place.

More Wembley updates

http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...n-hosting-full-wembley-capacity-a3496406.html

Tottenham will learn on Thursday whether they will be able to use Wembley’s full 90,000 capacity for at least 27 home matches next season.

Brent Council’s planning committee will decide whether to grant the application, made by Wembley National Stadium Limited, for the extra matches at full capacity during the 2017-18 campaign.

Brent officers recommended last week that the committee give the green light - in the form of a 44-page report - as long as it is agreed Tottenham's move would prove beneficial, and not negatively impact, the local community.

Wembley have asked for 22 extra full-capacity events to be permitted between August 1 this year and July 31, 2018, which would allow Spurs full use of the ground’s 90,000 seats for every home fixture next term at the national stadium.

Spurs say they have until March 31 to activate their option, agreed with Wembley, though there remains no official word from the club that this season is likely to be their last at White Hart Lane.

Manchester United's visit on May 13 is currently scheduled to be the last game hosted by the stadium.

Spurs hope that moving out for a year would ensure their 61,000-seat ground — a project costing £800m — will be ready for the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

I reckon we really only want to have about 10 full capacity days but more likely to get 10 by asking for 22?

What if we say that anyone who buys an ST at Wembley will have priority to buy one in the new stadium? I reckon you could sell 50-60k of them that way.

In light of the latest terrorist technique of driving into crowds, I think it has become essential that there are raised walkways to WHL station as part of the redevelopments . It is not very clear to me if they are going ahead.

I don't think I'm overacting, as they attacked the stade de France recently.
We are all legitimate targets to them..

With all due respect all we can do is offer whatever support is needed to our amazing intelligence and emergency services. Anyone who's so minded and not monitored can easily kill several people before being stopped. A raised walkway just means it'll be on the high street instead, or he'll just use a knife or an improvised explosive instead. As hard as the task is, identifying and monitoring likely suspects is the only effective approach.

The other thing we have to do is not give in to the fear, live our lives around it and let them dictate the agenda. That's how they win. Four innocent lives were lost in Britain today - that's utterly tragic and I feel incredibly sorry for them and their families. However, it's likely that five innocent lives were lost in traffic accidents, as they are on the average day in this country. The terrorists aren't winning and indeed they can't win unless we give in to them.

The PL rules state that away teams should be given 10% up to 3k maximum (at the home clubs descretion). I wonder if the rules will be changed for Wembley and if Spurs will cave in to the dosh and offer more to certain teams?
