A fair bit has been mentioned about City's spending clout, which is a fair point. But does anyone else think there are prime opportunities there to take some of their non-20-million-plus bracket players? I hear the likes of Onuoha, Richards, Ireland, , Bellamy, Johnson, de Jong all mentioned as available. Those players were all touted as stars before their riches came. Is it a stupid idea just to cherrypick from City's bargain bucket?

Yes.

Said it several times. I think Citeh, in their haste, will be needlessly discarding some very decent players, and cheaply. Personally, I would like 'Arry to make an effort for Stephen Ireland...he's already rules himself out, whcih disappoints me, as i think whoever gets him, if he goes, will get a real bargain.

For sure Man City do definitely have players that could improve us. I really wouldnt mind taking a punt on Roque Santa Cruz, at a hugely deflated price. Richards may be a good option depending on our Woody situation. And if Man city sell De Jong, they are completely losing the plot.

Im seriously hoping Tevez leaves them, he is the key to their potential success.

I predict Man City will not do better this season than last.

Completely agree re: Ireland. Was it a season or two ago he was touted as one of the best young players in the EPL? Not exactly sure where he would fit in, but if we're going after Joe Cole, who himself is a cracking player, surely Ireland would be a better player to get? In terms of wages, attainability and age it makes more sense. To me, anyway.

doesnt matter how good city players are. In harry we have a much better manager than mancini, better both tactically and man management

Sadly, last rumour I heard was that he could be on his way (back) to United...as I said, 'Arry has already stated he has no interest in him (honest 'Arry:wink:).

Am not quibbling about that. I think that we secured 4th last year and the seasons both clubs had proved Harry > Mancini. This year may turn out slightly differently if Mancini invests his fortunes wisely. What I am saying (and I think SP also) is that if City are stupid enough to let go of the players that are banded about, we should seriously consider nabbing one or two who would compliment the guys we already have. Like Ireland and maybe Onuoha (if Woody is kaput).
