Just a thought.
Is it possible to play Locelso & Ndombele in the same midfield, along with Hojberg.
Love both these players, and believe that midfield 3 would be the dream.

Jose has said a few times about wanting (or thinking about) playing lo Celso and Ndombele together.

Fitness issues for both are an issue at the moment.

Lo Celso and Ndombele would have to work hard making when we don't have the ball. Something they can both do at least in short bursts, but 90mins?

I think my concern, aside from fitness, is if you play then both from the start who do you bring on in midfield if it's not working.
At least by subbing GLC for TN you're maintaining a certain level rather than letting it drop

That trio, similar to Kane, Bale and Son up front, is only viable for certain games.

It’s the midfield I’d like to see at home vs the bus parkers. But games like today, Sissoko is a valuable player tracking back and adding extra cover to the back four.

Really? I think I’d like to see it against pretty much every team bar City, Liverpool, Chelsea, maybe United. But honestly even then I genuinely believe Lo Celso is just as good defensively as Sissoko. You saw the tackles at the end.

In other words, when we are the bus parkers

Good chance to try it v Ludogrets at least for the first half then take them both off.

With just one goal conceded in the last four PL games I don't see any change in the PEH/Moussa defensive partnership starting games for the time being.

Moussa does a very good job at providing defensive stability with Hojbjerg and that gives more license to Reguilon and Aurier to get further forward.

I would imagine it depends in part who we are playing and how solid JM wants the midfield to be.

With two games per week players need to be rotated. By alternating which of Lo Celso and Ndombele starts, with the other coming on as a sub, they can both be limited to about 90 minutes per week, without us ever having to play without either.

I think they are two top players. They need to play both, it is not good to have one of the two on the bench. A lot of money was invested in them.

I get the clamour to have them playing together, and eventually it’s likely going to be a standard set up in the side. But right now I think it’s pretty important that we have one of them on the bench, neither seems fit enough to last ninety minutes yet, and having someone of their quality to replace each other when they tire is a godsend.

The problem you’d find is that there would not be enough men back to stop the counter attack. The way around that is to play Davies and/or Tanganga. But then you lose some impact further forward. So I suspect they’d be played with at least one out and out winger (Lucas or Son instructed to stay wide). Or perhaps with Vinicius and Kane.
