I don't see why Dembele can't play a role like Paulinho, more box to box and appearing in the final 3rd more because he has a strong shot and uncanny ability to side step and take a player on to get a shot off.

Can't emphasise how annoying it is to see him playing so deep all the time. Someone of his ability should certainly be adding goals to our goal tally.

We're not missing goals from Dembele or the position he plays in.

We're missing goals in the front 3 players.

Soldado, Townsend, Lennon and Sigurdsson have managed a total of 5 league goals from open play in all our league games this season. That's frankly a shocking statistic and is the area to blame for a lack of goals.

So I don't have to rehash what I have said previously he's what I post in the last Dembele thread.

In my opinion Dembele doesn't move the ball on quickly enough and when he does make a good forward run and get opposition players out of position doesn't seem able to play that final ball to setup a chance for a team mate.

He has all the physical attributes to be the complete midfielder but I think it's the 5 inches between the ears that are missing at times.

I'm not saying what we're missing is goals from Dembele, the reason for our lack of goals is a whole other subject, I'm just saying that he should have the capability to provide goals for us due to his ability.

He's been poor no doubt. Is he an attacking driving midfielder or a defensive rock? I don't think he or anyone knows. Has he created a goal, scores a goal in the last 18/20 games?

Fuck me, how about played in every league game and helped us to get us currently to 4th spot in the league in a massively competitive season, for starters.
not today he didnt.
Hes over rated, he wont get in the team when capoue and sandro are fit.

here we go. belgian drama has just begun i think. mousa is frustrated, jan's body language is saying the same, chadli disappeared. the situation will get only worse and worse.

it's still very very soon to say but i think we might be losing the league at this point. :(

If he is agitating for a move and if we get our money back on him, I would happily let Dembele go.

Generally I like Mousa but if we can sell him for the money we bought him and bring in Carroll regulary I am fine.

Technical speaking Dembele is one of the best players we have at the time
but it seems he is affraid to make mistakes, he dosent try to send a clever pass
just sending safe passes sideways

When he considers it and starts to moan?
Hes barely said anything.. Of course we would be upset with his chances, most players are when dont play.. Support him, dont flog him as soon as he dips in form and says one thing, this isnt fucking chelsea

I support any player on the pitch in a spurs shirt. But we should be able to discuss a few circumstances after the games. This isnt a love story, that is fast moving football business.

Stand by it. Pedestrian. Reminds me of JJ this season.

When Sandro came on, we actually looked like we had a presence in the centre of midfield.

I find myself mor and more underwhelmed and frustrated in equal measure by Dembele. Often what he does looks epic but there's zero end product.

For me Dembele only performs one function well : retaining posession ( other than today when he could barely do that). He's superb at dribbling out of tight areas but does absolutely nothing with it.

For this reason he needs to be surrounded by midfielders who have vision and passing ability so he can concentrate on retaining the ball and giving it simply to others who can hurt the opposition. He's not a playmaker at all, he's not a true DM and he's not really a box to box midfielder either as he rarely runs beyond the ball and doesn't score goals.

Him and Paulihno simply dont work. If he plays it has to be with Sandro or Capoue and he has to have players like Holtby, Eriksen and Lamela ahead of him rather than players like Sig, Lennon and Townsend.

Dembele epitomises what's wrong with our team right now. Keeps the ball well, solid, but no end product. I'd like to see Sandro and Paul with Sandro sitting.
