Ten options, you see how bad things are at our loved club at the moment.

Season still not over for us, but no good signs.

So what is your most depressing player story?

I go for Erik Lamela , but a tough one.

I think has to be soldado, tough time under new managers tactics, settling in a new country, getting use to new team, lost confidence and has lost a baby.

He was looked certain to be Spain's first choice striker at the world cup before he joined us and now he might not even go(n)

Got to be Soldado, what with his horrific personal problems at the beginning of the season, him moving to the PL and it seemingly not clicking (yet), being mocked by that twat Sugar. The man must be under an overwhelming amount of stress

Nothing belies this season more than us smashing our transfer record for Lamela - a precocious talent with huge potential only to completely mismanage his development to now him probably sitting out with 'niggling injuries' and scared of his own shadow.

Only Tottenham.....

I went for LB as we have enough players everywhere else and a decent left back may have made the defence better overall. I think both Soldado and Lamela will be good second season players. Kaboul has been f***ed for more than this season.

For whoever votes for 'other', if you could explain what else has depressed you that much so we can revel in the abundance of depressing features together, you know just to make Monday even better..that would be 'great'.

This thread is weird.

It is weird and a lot like self flaggelation. But its very in keeping with Spurs through the years.

The most dissapointing has to be Soldado. We as fans had waited so long for us to fork out decent money for a striker and when Levy finally does it, it's on one who is arguably not suited to this league and only because our best player is leaving.

To me the most disappointing story this season has been Soldado by some distance

It had to be one of he or Lamela surely due to the expectation placed on them via the money spent

At least with Lamela he's hardly played and we can harbour much more hope that success will come due to his age

Soldado was the one expected to be a signing for the NOW not the future and to date he's been a major major flop - Torres and Carrol to Liverpool proportions flop

Not that I am writing him off - he can still come good if we can get more creativity and play to his strengths and of course he himself has to adjust to a new country for the first time and has his own settling in period (just because he's 28 and not 21 doesn't make him immune to that) but as far as this thread goes and who has been the biggest disappointment of the season so far for my money it has to be Soldado

Was brought in for huge money to be the superstar striker we'd needed for so long and 1 league goal from open play all season is totally unacceptable

I really hope he ends the season strong - or at least comes good next year under a new manager with different ideas and style of play, but in this moment in time £26m spent on a Spainish international goal machine to be the man that would fire us to glory with a return of one league goal from open play at the close of Feb makes him the biggest flop maybe ever at our club and he has to top this poll (thankfully his time at the club is not over and he still has time to change all this of course)
