Clarification of Southampton Schneiderlin

Following our article yesterday on cravings Katharina Liebherr find a wealthy buyer to give the Saints, President Ralph Krueger broke his silence, ensuring that the club was not for sale, and then Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez would not leave. Explanations.

"They will be in our workforce next season. They will not be sold, "said Krueger told the BBC. Words that are reminiscent of Les Reed, the Executive Director, in recent months. Here are some examples from the official website of the Saints: "We (with Mauricio Pochettino) talk every day and sometimes several times a day. I think there is a lot of misinformation. "; "The articles saying that we would be close to a deal with some players are totally erroneous and false [...] We want to build on this season. We want to improve our workforce to go further. We want to keep the players we have. They are all under contract [...] Every information will probably end with a: no, it is not for sale. "

Southampton takes people for truffles

Football, and more Premier League, is a world of artifice and image. All that shows is often manipulated, worked upstream. The media play their role to perfection puppet, just to turn the store obviously. But let us be clear for months Southampton takes people for truffles - and especially his fans, everything is geared to not lose face vis-à-vis them - and cash big tickets.

There has been all possible denials and agreed in the press on certain transfers leaks - including Lallana - forever playing on the idea that the villain is the player. Note also that only the transfer of Rickie Lambert went perfectly in the negotiations and output. Oddly, this is the least expensive (about £ 4 million with bonus) ...

To give another example of shameless manipulation, talking about social programs of English clubs - especially in the Premier League - and donations to charity. Beautiful in appearance, except that everything is calculated and staged. Very few players do it naturally and without camera as Sagna

In short, it does not have to be clairvoyant to understand that the Premier League, like every business in the world, seeks to raise the most benefits. To give another example of shameless manipulation, talking about social programs of English clubs - PL especially - and donations to charity. Beautiful in appearance, except that everything is calculated and staged. Very few players do it naturally and without camera as Sagna. Then the little secret that cache, is that these donations are used to obtain reduced rates / taxes (note, the investigation of the Independent was very revealing. Jerome Latta's blog, the editor of Cahiers du Football, speaks for those wanting to know more). Not to achieve a noble cause.

This is parallel to the situation in Southampton today. Never, oh never great, Katharina Liebherr will not sell! One, it would be wrong to negotiate with potential buyers, they know they are in a strong position and the price will be lower. Two, communicating so, Krueger wants to make people understand, "No, we do not want to sell, but look, it's the players who want to leave! "

In England, there is the famous "transfer request" that some players use as Ross McCormack, Captain Leeds (D2) party Fulham (D2) there a few weeks ago for £ 11 million. The aim of the leaders of Southampton is simple: that Schneiderlin and Rodriguez use this method, which ensures a better image contrast for club and players.

Schneiderlin was from last year, but did not pay attention

Following a meeting with management, the French tweeted: "6 years of an amazing journey # saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour! "This tweet is not a knee-jerk reaction, we have been well confirmed. You should know that "Spiderman" was already a big club from last summer, but has not said anything or done, having obtained the promise that he could join a major training next summer if good offer. A promise unfulfilled course, like to keep a competitive team. Turkey stuffing, it will be interesting to see if the drive tomorrow.

If this is not the case, it is not suitable reaction, of course. But the same question arises for Jay Rodriguez if he was not still recovering after his rupture of the cruciate ligaments. Honestly, that seems the most avid between these two players and leaders Southampton who had commissioned the co-founder of an American company exceeding 3 billion specializing in buyouts, sales and capital increases for a wealthy buyer I need regular.

Morality, both sides are at loggerheads. None will use a clever way and nobody will emerge strengthened. Problem Schneiderlin saw all the best players from even Adam Lallana, Captain. This is not Europe that you aim today is no longer the ambitious Cortese. This inevitably weigh in choosing a French international with firm offers from several European clubs ...

Suite à un meeting avec la direction, le Français a twitté : « 6 years of an amazing journey #saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour !!!

That is indeed true, when I moved down to Southampton, my mother received compensation in truffles.

I'm sorry but if we do sign MS and they play the unhappy player card and Soton fans buy it they are utter morons and I'll have no sympathy.
Southampton fans are already pissed off. I reckon that they know the only way to appease them is to sign new players, and quickly. What would make the most sense from their perspective is to sign the players they need to replace the ones who have left and who are going to be leaving before they sell anyone else. We weren't too unhappy last summer because we had secured our signings before selling Bale.

So their statement today buys them some time to do that I think. It also has the advantage of making MS look like the bad guy in forcing a move. They can hold on for a couple weeks while they sign replacements and then sell him saying they had no choice. I'm not sure Daniel Levy is the best person to play that game with though.

Is weird a talented player kicking off royally seemingly because they can't join Spurs. Feels like the club have metaphorically suddenly grown a ten inch cock, which will probably become a two incher when Cleverley walks in the door on deadline day.

Normally I would think this is pretty disrespectful by the player. However as someone who has been there 6 years, shown loyalty and played his part in building the club back up from League One, seen half the team sold off in front of him, obviously Saints have been in negotiations with us/Arsenal and a deal was very close, he's apparently already in the process of moving house, and now had the plug pulled because the chairman is reacting to the fans backlash and saying no-one else will go (but its too late with 5 already sold)... I can see why he has done it.

Another one supposedly in the know on Saints Web, as they're all asking him questions (Billy)

Around midday today Morgans agents were at St Mary's expecting to find out and discuss which bid had been accepted by the club for him. you can imagine his surprise at the statements made by our chairman a few hours later. He has been lied to by the club and promises that were made to him and have now been broken. IMO i still think he we go (has a club ever kept a player who didnt wish to stay?), and the worst possible thing Krueger could have said. Are we now gonna have a player go on strike? i personally think its best we let any who don't want to be here go. The club are scared after the fans reaction to the Chambers sale and are now trying to placate the fans by blocking Morgans promised transfer.

I actually think unless somehow what Krueger said is true and they don't let anyone else go Soton could end up with an entirely new squad this season. What's stopping Clyne and Wanyama doing same now. Ward Prowse too maybe.

wasn't there itk that the french players had to be playing regular 1st team football at a top club to be selected for France so that's probably a big reason for ms looking to move.

£13m sound about right. Liverpool will be their yardstick, so they say they want double and get it from them. DL will still be laughing at £27m......

We paid £15m for a similar player in Dembele and he's considerably better than Dembele. And he's homegrown.
