And yet here we are, 4 pages into a thread with the word 'Moderator' in the title, and not a moderator in sight.

Maybe they're having meeting.

underwhelmed?

Maybe they don't want to comment - it may have been dealt with in private as any infractions should be. Or maybe chat room rules really are seperate to sc.

There is also the fact that no one can prove it was adiepf - you can log into the chat room under and name can't you?

Yep, and the fact that it was never censored was due to the fact that those of us who used it regularly weren't really that disruptive. Yeah, we used to chat a load of old bollocks, but it was never vindictive like it was today.

Without moderation it will just turn into a place where grudges that are squashed on the forums can play out to the annoyance of everyone else in there but i've felt that, generally, people are far more hostile on SC now than they were a couple of years ago, both on the forums and chatroom. No fault of the mods, a community is what the people who exist in it make of it, all they can do is be there to stamp out flames and ban those who insist on continually starting trouble.

Remember, people might act like a pleb one day and be the nicest the next, we all have off days, so lets leave this to die for the time being. We've all had our say about the conduct of certain posters in the chatroom, lets put it down to several bad days colliding at once and move on, with the knowledge that this is the internet and acting like a mong gets you nowhere.

Happened to me around one year ago. Somebody logged in using my username and apparantly gave somebody who I didn't get on with a load of abuse. It was probably one of his cronies trying to get me banned. Ironically him and some of his cronies are the ones who have since been banned.

To those of you whinging about SC chat today do you know you can hide posters in SC match day chat too? Just a suggestion

Exactly. But people would rather moan about stuff they find offensive even though they know that the person is saying this stuff to wind them up and succeeding!

People take the internet too seriously.

At least they have decent movies to watch these days. Lolly Badcock is one of my favourites....

Not in China they don't, I had my imagination and the comments of all the patients outside the 'collection room' ringing in my ears to help me...

That wasn't half as bad as the nurses discussing my failure to produce in said corridor and examining my undercome in front of an interested crowd.

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cr:oops:

I think there's a difference between poster A deliberatly winding up poster B than other viewers getting wound up by poster A's bad taste. Poster B would be right to have a go back as its personal.

Example:

Antagonist calls you a "soppy, know nothing prick, strap your tie to a rafter and kick out the stool"

Acceptable responses can include, "Grow up" and/or "That's an over-reaction, suggest you go calm down before you post again"

Not acceptable responses could be, "Fuck you, chicken kidney balls, i'll rape your dog" and/or "I'm going to find your house, shoot you in the face then piss in the hole".

Acceptable answers lead to the moral high ground and a win for you. The unacceptable examples just drop you to their level and continue the argument - why fan the flames when you're standing in the fire??

Right, that's done, i'm off to go rape a dog.

Pretty sure it was Adiepf. He signed off with his usual catchphrase "that's it, I'm done with this place."

Gets funnier every time I hear it.

I had mod privileges once.

You seem to have had a lot of things once DJ

Just remember, Hottie, the opposite works, too - if we have a bad game, bad half, or even if our passing stats are a bit orf, there'll be a witch-hunt against you (so I'd be cautious about wearing that hat after dark in a strong wind ).

Well there will be now anyway after you put the thought in everyone's head :eek:mg:

Aaaah, but he can still dream...

I used to go in the chat room but haven't for some time. It always got a bit silly.

A few things:

Lanh's taking a break at the minute and I still need to speak to him about the chatroom

Just because a user took a certain username on there doesn't mean it's really them. It's a separate network to SC and unless you have your name registered on there you can call yourself anything. Let's not hang anyone without any proper proof, eh?

If anyone's really out of line on there, make a note of their IP/hostname and PM me. You can get those details by typing /whois and their name e.g. /whois Rob
