For Clarification:

Squad maximum is 25
We currently have 6 HG and 19 Non HG with CCV KWP and Onomah counting as U21.
If we sign no HG we can only have 17 Non HG so 2 will have to be Sold / Loaned.
If we sign Zaha and Grealish we can still only have 17 Non HG so 2 will still have to be Sold / Loaned.
If we want to sign another Non HG we have to sell a further Non HG.

This is what the ITK's have been alluding to for sometime that we need to sell to make room in the squad not for monetary reasons.

Show how ridiculous it is taking punts on cheap average foreign players. Not only are they more likely to not work out, they are harder to shift and they take up vital non HG spaces in the squad.

Makes me wonder why on earth we sanctioned the signing of Gazzaniga as a third choice keeper when he takes up a vital space. Bizarre.

Based on Trix’s last post, it sounds like we will get at least 1 non-HG player, so I suspect that means at least one of GKN, Jannsen etc. are either considered offloadable or expendable. Worst case we’ll loan them out.

Don't doubt it mate, in fact I think he's a really decent keeper myself! Just doesn't seem to work out that way though, as we have a Non-HG player playing 1 or 2 games a season, forcing us to trade only in the HG market for another player who could play anything from 5-40 games a season.

Gazza is a solid keeper and no issues from a quality point of view for 3rd choice, just that the numbers don't add up IMO.

Surely it won’t be that hard to loan out 2/3 players worst case scenario. Especially to Europe after the deadline. We might have to take a bit of a hit, but it will be nothing compared to not competing in the league and champions league.

Sausage has started a thread about this in spurs chat that sets it out. @Archibald&Crooks or @Rob hopefully will move it to transfer rumours.

I'm sure once the big boys have finished shopping. It will start the butterfly effect for the lesser clubs :sneaky::sneaky:

Glad @Trix came in with the save. I understand good housekeeping up to this point, but now the focus has to change. If we have a player lined up who can help us (Martial/Kovacic profile) I'm sure we would go for it.

A weakened negotiating position on N'Koudou or Janssen can't come before our ambitions to improve the team.

Of course it's relatively easy to loan players out since you are basically giving them away for free, but Levy isn't going to do that and neither he should. If he already can't stomach splashing £70m ish or whatever on Zaha with a recoup of £20m for Sissoko for example, he certainly isn't going to drop the 70 then give away a player for free.

Levy's transfer dealings have got us from mid table to CL basically every season with a squad worth somewhere in the billions, let's give him the respect of the full window before we crack up!

I would hope he does (and that applies to every player we sign I hope) otherwise it would be even more of a baffling decision. I'd be surprised if Poch wouldn't rather use that slot for a highly talented foreign first 11 player.

Nothing against the kid at all, but 3rd choice keeper's hardly ever play, probably the most pointless place in the first team squad.

Surely he will choose us over Chelsea

Well if we/Poch wants him, I really hope that’s the case. We’ve been here before though and it didn’t end well.

For that reason alone I’d like us to get him and screw them over.

UPDATE
Home grown is no big issue. VJ as good as fine, so, and? Plus sensationalism from Standard.

We have offered better wages, better bonuses, better package to Wilf. If you knew the true reality at chavs, you wouldn’t sign for them.

I'd love it if we get Zaha done, would add another dimension to our attack. Plus it means Poch would have been backed in a big way.
