Every game Milos played at the World Cup was at centre back and he played every minute of every game including 3 extra times with Serbia who beat Brazil in the final.

Centre back.

He can play both and has done.

He plays CB internationally, but I have seen him play DM and actually prefer him there, which shows how good he is. The 6 games he started in the Championship for both Boro and Charlton were all in midfield as the holding midfielder, and received good reviews particularly complimenting is organisational skills and passing.

He also played holding midfielder as 17 year old when we finished top of the u21 league and was controlling matches including a game against Ross Barkley. That's why I wouldn't say it is cut and dry where he can play he's very versatiles. Also from looking at his games at Charlton he started ahead of Joe Gomez before his injury who has now been bought for 3.5m and will play for Pool in the PL and won the u17 Euros with Onomah, yet neither of our 2 are believed to be good enough smh

Versatile players rarely hold down a regular starting spot. Better for Milos to be seen as one or the other and if he is going to be an international centre back then that is where we should play him.

Yes but I am sure most people would agree, though I think good wingers is more of a priority, that a DM is needed urgently or protect the back 4 moreso than another CB. Surely he has the potential to fulfill this role. We are talking about a guy that has Championship experience in this position and performed well. Sherwood trusted him and played him at DM in the PL at 18, though we didn't have enough minutes to judge him.

This is someone who helped Serbia u21s (who are probably better than Eng u21s) qualify for the Euros at the age of 19. Alli is a good player but if he was playing for Eng u21s at 19 and played well people would say he is ready for the first team, heck he hasn't even done that and some people already think he is ready for the first team, which I don't necessarily disagree with. MV played for 2 legs against Morata, Deulofeu, Munain, Isco and Sergi Roberto and only conceded one goal. That attack would be competing for the top 6 in the PL, so he clearly has the awareness to deal with clever movement and players. He has the abiltiy to play DM in the PL now, not to mentioned his recent WC victory.

With Ball and CCV we have less of a need for him to be back up at CB. As I think maybe Ball but definitely CCV could play in the EL.

Additionally King and Vertonghen both started out in DM so it's not like he can't learn form the position and move back. He will find is definite position eventually but let's use him now, where we need it most

I think he was misunderstood. He wants a player more similar to viera or yaya than a makelele that hardly ever ventures into the opositions half and just defends.

That is how I interpreted it at the time. Roy Keane is probably the ultimate example. I tend to agree with Tim on this too.

I think if you are in a midfield position, even in a deeper more defensive role, you have to do more than sit back, it is important to get forward and contribute in attack.

Players like that don't pop up every day though.
