Should Michael continue to be snubbed by England, there's always Cricket to fall back on...

Undoubted Yorkshire genes there!

Amazing how so many sportsmen could have made it at another sport....i'd just like to be 'good' at one!

Being in sports requires a certain awareness and edge mentally and not just physically. It makes sense that a lot of footballers would be good at other sports and vice versa. Messi's awareness and movement would be fantastic in many other sports, providing his physicality matched up to them too.

He was apparently a bit of a Muggsy Bogues whilst at La Masia

I agree with you 100%, but for some reason my mind conjured up the image of Phil Taylor in the starting blocks of the men's 100 metres final.

It is quite common. Lineker is the perfect example. Apparently he could of made it as a cricketer, has scored a century break in snooker and is a top golfer too. Makes ya sick, doesn't it?

Neville Neville needs to be studied by scientists....

Doesnt surprise me that he likes a hoof either.

Phil Neville also holds the record for the youngest player to score a century for Lancashire 2xl at 15. And apparently captained, opened the batting and opened the bowling while Flintoff took a backseat for county u15s and played for Eng u15s. Then just decided to play football. Crazy.

I remember an interview with Michael Owen donkeys years ago, where he demonstrated that he could have been just as fine a tennis player, golfer or snooker player.

Apparantly our Gareth is a bit handy at Golf too.

It's not that surprising, there was always a selection of lucky bastards who were the best at every sport in PE at school.

Sickens me to think that we were prepared to let this guy go in the summer. He didnt deserve to be in a relegation fight, and playing in the championship again.

Also, Broad got his height (6 ft 3) bang on!

I've actually played against Shaun Maloney in a Scottish U-18s district cricket match. He opened the batting for the North district. I remember one of my district team mates tried to get Maloney to play for his Glasgow club ( Drumpellier ) that he had become the captain of, but Celtic barred Maloney from playing if I remember correctly.

Andy Goram was internationally capped for Scotland as a left handed batsman, although he didn't wicket keep as most would expect.

Love how Dawson clearly likes to give it a nudge. Very clean hitting back over the bowlers head, long off and on would be very busy !
