I totally agree that Spurs lack pace in attack and that is a huge "handicap" but that doesn't make Spurs able to beat ManU to Depay IF ManU are after him - nor do I think Levy will be willing to break the bank yet again (but I may be wrong)...

Oh absolutely, no denying that whatsoever. But regardless whether we go for Depay or not, I would find it very difficult to believe Poch is satisfied with our attacking options and consequently hesitant to make addition or two this summer. Even my mother pointed out in a game over the holidays that we're "really slow."

The LVG link should send him to Manure, but he would be a very handy signing here. Could be worth a cheeky bid ;)

I'm not kidding myself that we can land him.

Agree. I'm sure his wages won't be an issue, but the only chance we have is to have a swift negotiation with PSV and stump up what they want.

No something that we ever do, unless we have £85m coming our way as per the Bale sale.

Shame, as I wasn't convinced he was what we needed originally as he plays on the left where we have Chadli and Eriksen, but I've since changed my mind. He's raw, but seems cut out for the PL. Plenty of pace, power and directness.

As people have mentioned, with Dier's development, I don't think we need a £20m CB partner for Jan, maybe someone like Mustafi or Fabian Schar is my number 1 choice (out of contract this summer) we need a second striker and then a wing-forward with pace to burn...

Depay lit up the World Cup and went to show his potential. Think that there are a number of Eredivise players I think we should look at (Narsingh, Maher, Classie, Vilhena, Kongolo, Depay, Locadia, Zivkovic and Milik) as there are quality players available for cheap prices who have proven to come to the PL and fit in well.

With kane's present form and if Dier keep improving as CB then they have saved Levy from spending 25-30M on a quality striker and 20-25M on a quality CB this summer....which would free up money for an quality player in another position.
Thing is, the way Dembele is playing now as OMF, which has pushed Eriksen out on the LWF spot (where Depay plays) and having Chadli too as LWF means Poch may consider that spot well covered.
Besides, if ManU really are after him there is no way Spurs can out-bid them.

Dembele does present an interesting conendrum, but I think long-term Eirksen will play the central role with a wide player either side of him.

As others have said we do need to inject some more pace into the team too.

Dembele gives us a good option squad / rotation-wise though.

Chadli for me could play right-side also.

Leaving PSV in the summer Cocu has confirmed....

Summer Tottenham target Memphis Depay will leave PSV at the end of the season, confirms manager

PSV manager Phillip Cocu has accepted that Memphis Depay will leave the club at the end of the season.

Tottenham pursued the Dutch international in the summer and saw an offer of £10million plus Nacer Chadli for Depay rejected.

The 21-year-old has scored 15 goals in 19 league starts this season and a further six goals in the Europa League.

PSV eventually held onto Depay last summer, despite further interest from Manchester and Newcastle, but Cocu admits the attacker is ready to leave Philips Stadion.

When asked about interest in Depay, Cocu told Russia's Sport Express: "That's unfortunate, but on the other hand, we must as a club be proud because we have trained him.

"At some point, it becomes clear that he is ready for the next step. And yes, I think he's going to leave PSV after this season.

"Whether he can be as good as Arjen Robben? I think so.

"They are different players, but they are both fast and have a good shot. And both always have the urge to learn."

Well it seems we can all agree then to hoping Stuttgart gets relegated in the Bundesliga, as it would more likely mean they'd be forced to sell Werner to Bayern.

Delighted to see more people recognizing our weakness in pace.
