Robbo's mistake could have lost us the game, good thing Zoko became a superman to get back, other than that Robinson had a 6/10 game.

Robinson 5.5 - Terrible major mistake again on 74 minutes whilst still 0-0. Easy save from Davis' chip.

robinson 6 - we almost conceded a goal because of him when kanu went past him. one good save.

Robinson (5) Good save from Davis, but let a tame Kanu header past him through poor coming out.

Robinson - 6 - solid apart from one mistake

Poor decision making from Robbo could have cost us.
Probably the highlight of Zokora's season.

The BAD

Robbo - made 1 mistake, saved one shot. Average performance. Problem is he seems so nervous - he needs an extended summer to get his confidence back.

Robinson 6 - Nothing much to do but one good save and a clanger that nearly let in Kanu.

Quite happy to say Robbo was slow off his line for the Kanu chance, could have got to it, but how did Kanu get the chance? Zokora let him go, didn't see him drift in behind and get the chance.

Robbo coming off his line made it more difficult for Kanu and Zokora coming back mopped things up.

But its not just a Robbo mistake/clanger/fuck up.

and?

Zokora lost his man, Robbo was slow coming off his line. Why is Robbo the only one getting the blame?

Robinson 6 - Nothing to do and made an huge error when Kanu almost made him look mighty stupid.

Hutton 7 - Good game, kept running up and down but Lennon never passed the ball back to him.
Dawson 6
Woodgate 7.5 - Great to see him telling Robbo to play it short....time after time.
Chimbonda 6

Lennon 5 - Stunningly crappy crosses, final passes and shooting. Refused to link up with Hutton time after time.
Zokora 7
Hudd 7
Malbranque 6

Keane 7
Berba 6
---
O'hara 7
Bent 7
Tainio 6

How Lennon was marked so low is unbelievable. He had a good game apart from most of his crosses. But if the same thing was applied to Steed, then where was his end product? I don't think there was any.

but IMO steed worked harder off the ball than Lennon did, tracked back more and put in more tackles, also i think steed got involved in the game more and more of his pass's came off

both had slightly poor games but Lennon was worse i though, didnt look like his old self and was glad when he got taken off

robbo 3 - you can tell our defenders have no confidence in him
chimpo 5 - crap as always. Gets into silly positions, sometimes gets away with it by making last ditch tackles. Ppl think it's great but he should never get into those situations in the first place. I want him out.
woody - 8, solid and dependable
dawson - 6 not a great deal to do with kanu playing up front on his own.
hutton - 5 been very dissapointing the last two games. Doesn't look like a 9 mill player from what i've seen so far.
lennon 2 - enough said, out!
zoko 7 - once again, the best midfield player (from a very ordinary middle four it has to be said)
thudd 7- drifted in and out too much. Lots of misplaced passes too.
malbrank 6- ran like a headless chicken but little end product
berby 6 - ok'ish
keane 5- average

bent 7 - did well
ohara 6 - not good enough.
tainio 5 - didn't see much of him.

So we're defending Robbo for the Kanu incident? Not too sure myself, but I'm more concerned about the way even the guys who rated him poorly said he made just one mistake.

Meat and drink goalkeeping is largely about positioning. Robbo's worst error for me was his horrendous positioning for the Davis chip - sure, he got back well but Davis was miles out and it was a pretty close thing. It should never have been an option.

I wish I didn't feel this way - but the sooner we get a new keeper in place the better. I can't see Robbo getting back to the standard required.

You said that Robbo coming off his line made it more difficult for Kanu. I said I wasn't sure - which means I think you might have been right. The point I want to make is that that was a tough decision for Robbo to make but his positioning for the Davis chip was a basic goalkeeping error - which is fast becoming his stock in trade.

I did, but i still said Robbo should have got something on it.

I just think Zokora's defending was just as bad. Let Kanu drift off him then didn't seem to want to chace him for a second or two.

I know he isn't a defender, but he should still know to stang goal side to your man.

Zokora mad the inital mistake, then Robbo didn't look like he would ever make a catch or punch when he came out. Both at fault for me.

I have to disagree with you monkey man. Chimbo was utter shite yesterday. He got caught out of position too many times. Good thing pompey were playing with a lone 58 year old up-front otherwise i'm convinced we'd have lost the game. He was crap against chelsea too.

I get the feeling his heart's not in it any more. Get rid!
