it's pretty obvious our fullbacks have been targeted.. Chelsea tried & most of there attacks were aimed at fullbacks.. same in Europe.. it is where we leave most space it's not over analysis.. it's an obvious area we can be exposed
I don't think most attacks came from those areas. We were pressed a lot and kept giving the ball away in midfield and defence. Our fullbacks have been our strength for most of the season, very rarely see people get the better of them.

Not saying we're gonna catch The Chavs but to say they have the league wrapped up at this point is a bit soon, a lot of football to play and many teams have lost huge leads in the past. Great result for us today, getting a result when we're well below par.

just look at the goals we have conceded in Europe over last couple of years it's easy to see why teams in Europe target us in those areas.. it's pretty obvious if you really look & that's not an individual criticism of any player.. it's a clear area we leave space

I looked at the city team sheet and have to say I was expecting us to turn them over comfortably. Sure they had a lot of attacking flair but their defence looked weak and going in with Yaya as the lone holding midfielder looked like suicide. Actually they were excellent and today (despite them not winning) might just be the day that Pep arrived in the premier league. Sure we didn't help ourselves but they nullified us completely, swarmed all over us and could, maybe should, have been 5-0 up at half time. If City play like that for the rest of the season they will not drop many points.

On that basis you have to also give us credit for hanging in there and sneaking a draw in the end. They say it's the sign of a good side don't they...?

It's totally understandable why you might prefer Davies in the back three, particularly given Wimmer's performance today, but for me we're still better off if Wimmer gets an opportunity to shake off the rust and regain his best form.

Rose can't play every match -- he's only two bookings away from a two match suspension and the Europa League starts up again in February, not to mention he takes a beating every time he plays -- and Davies is our only alternative at LB. With Vertonghen out for two months (assuming he recovers on schedule), it's inevitable that we are going to have to call on Wimmer again. We'll be better off if he's at his best when we need him.

Our upcoming fixtures are good opportunities for him to play himself into form, and if he doesn't then he'll deservedly be dropped.
A fine response sir.

I tell you what was nice. Both managers coming out and telling the truth about how the game went. No bullshit, no lies. Just telling it how they saw it. Guardiola hates the media you can tell and I don't blame him, they're trying to trip him up time after time.

Based on? Oh, right.. fuck all.
Ooh - untwist those knickers and go inform yourself - he wants first team football and Spur have had offers for him and Spurs have refused those offers when Wimmer himself has "suggested" he wants first team football. So go do some reading and UnDoh your Simpson shaped brain.

From his agent:

"Tottenham Hotspur want to keep defender Kevin Wimmer despite offers from Cologne and several other clubs in the Premier League and the Bundesliga, agent Mithat Halis has told ESPN FC.

Halis, an agent at the Stars & Friends management company that represents Wimmer, said: "Cologne made an offer. There have been a few offers from the Premier League and the Bundesliga. There is a lot of interest.

"Tottenham do not want to sell. All offers have been turned down and he is staying."

I had to turn off just after they scored the second to have dinner with the wife's family. Was kind of relieved in all honesty.

How the fuck did we scrape a draw in the end?

Walker's ball for Alli, just delicious and Kane's flick for Son. Good for Son that he scored because his cheap loss of possession lead to the first.

Hopefully Hugo got his two annual blunders out of the way in one game and we still managed to come away with a draw despite being battered for most of it.

Well played Citeh, they were playing for their pride and their reputations. Basically forced the errors. Hard game and we ground out a point.

Gotta be happy with that.

Yet most of their clear cut opportunities came from either errors in the middle or long balls over the top.

Personally although we played poorly, I think we did extremely well to come away with a draw - and withstand the fairly predictable City backlash to their recent results.

It shows the resilience in the team that after getting absolutely battered by a City team flying on a revenge-inspired high, we still kept going and scored two decent goals (I'm sure Kane was offside for the second) and got a draw from a game where in previous years we probably would've got battered by four or five goals.
