The fact he was on the list meant he fitted the criteria of the kind of manager the board wanted for the club. Therefore I don’t see how ‘luck’ comes into it.
It's not lucky he was on a list, it's lucky he fucked up a couple of other options who would have got the job over Ange had they accepted.

Who knows how the other candidates would’ve come across in interviews, towards the fans etc. a criteria is a good baseline, but it’s not definitive in terms of a perfect fit. I doubt they all have the same personality, you can’t fit that into a criteria as each individual is completely unique.

That’s what is meant when people say lucked into it. If we had gotten the first pick under our “criteria” it wouldn’t have been Ange.

I am as Levy out as they come but you have to give credit where it's due and he has to take some credit for appointing Ange, however that came about.

My issue with using ‘luck’ as a metric is that if Ange was fucking up then I’m sure most on here wouldn’t be saying it was just an ‘unlucky’ appointment.

Yep. Anything good is ‘luck’ any failures are just down to incompetent Levy. This is the kind of balanced views I read on here every day.
And you can rightfully criticise levy for writing off 4 years with the previous 3 managers. Despite CL qualification, the footballing side has been shambolic.

However, I can't think of a bad signing we've made in the last 2 years. Imo

Agreed, but on past observation, our good appointments had an element of luck to them. Poch wouldn’t have come if we had convinced LVG. Ange wouldn’t have been our manager if Slot had taken our offer instead of extending. I’m not saying it’s an objective metric, but in these two isolated incidents it definitely played a part.

Consider this a metaphor for both Ange and Spurs this year and has nothing at all, i swear, with this thread. F***ing A, we got ourselves a manager!
