he's a coward along with Sissoko. He's not good enough, never has been and never will be
Seriously I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to my post. It's like your responding to whatever you've decided I wrote rather what I am actually talking about, which is the context of the game. Winks was fine, he was a 6 out of 10, not a good game but he wasn't dreadful. Next season I fully expect Skipp will take his position. But right now, if you want that kind of midfielder, we don't really have anyone else, without playing a different sort of game.

Playing better than Reguillon and Son is like saying he is a prettier turd. Winks rarely has a positive affect on the team. He just doesn’t.
Mate, what are you responding to?

Is just mentioning Winks enough to trigger people into some sort of rage?

As always, the pre day final excitement leads to a dreadful performance where we can’t even score a goal or put up a fight ??‍♀️

Against premier league teams we just can’t hack it in finals. Chelsea, Liverpool & now City have all managed to hold us at bay with ease.

Our best hope is knocking out one of these big teams in the semis so we’re favourites in the final or trying our luck against a European side ...

No winks played ok today. Much better than Son or Reguillon. He wasn't the reason why we lost.
if we had a better player than winks that increases our chances of controlling the game, thus winning.

So yeah, he's partly the reason we lost

Anyone get the feeling we will lose Son in the summer?

Barring a big name managerial appointment, I expect Son to be one of the names seeking a move in the summer. Can't imagine Son, Kane, and Hugo wanting to stick around for a rebuild when title-challenging teams will be interested in them.

Someone said about Winks wasn’t worse than Son or Reguillon. They were both bad and you could see it. Winks didn’t play well or poorly, just typically. He’s not agressive défensively so they overrun us in midfield and he really only makes safe passes.

The reality is that we are not close to the level to be competing with Man city. Winks was fine, Sissoko was not, but I do think that doing what some of the fans want on here would not be a better option. As normal whats happening is people are upset we lost and are trying to target the blame somewhere. But in the context of where we are and where city are the performance was far from a disaster that some are making out.
Winks was fine, losing to City was fine, what? Sorry you weren’t saying that when Mourinho was in charge. It’s hypocrisy and revisionist at the highest order, and no my blame is not with Mason nor was it with a Mourinho.

We’d still bottle it. It would be just like the Portsmouth FA Cup semi final.

We're a mess of a footy club and I hope we're not looking back in 10 years about how sacking Poch led to a decade of decline. We had a chance to back a guy who worked wonders with us. He set the bar and we're finding out fast that it's not easy to achieve what he achieved, let alone add a trophy to it.

That was the strategic blunder, and the chairman should've known better. He especially should've known better given how his appointments had be working out over 20 years at the club. But he fucked it up - not only by not backing him, but with the replacement - and a hell of a lot of fans went along with it.

We're in a hole now, one that might get a bit deeper if Kane and Son leave, and digging out seems like a very heavy lift.

Yeah I think the problem is people have turned what I said into some argument about Winks ability, when it was a passing comment based on, maybe a misunderstanding on my part, to attempt to blame the result on the selection or non-selection of Winks. When I think this is a little bit of just picking an easy target. It's not about Winks' ability as a player.

The selection of Winks made sense, because we didn't want to leave spaces for Man city midfielders to run into, and Ndombele let that happen all the time against Southampton. Obviously ideally you want a better option than Winks, but you have to deal with what you have. But it's not an attempt to say winks is great or anything like that.
