Well personally, I think he has bags of potential. I just think that a team like Spurs is not a job for a first time manager. I know he’s a caretaker so that comment was directed more at some of the fans that were calling for him to get the job full time.
Totally - I'm personally a believer that managers should start off at the bottom and work there way up. Fortunately (or not) there was never much chance of him putting Daniel Levy in a position where he would have given him a chance at the gig full time.

After watching the match, our team needs to get away from counter attack based football as our one and only form of play. The team cannot build attacks outside of counter attacks. The players play each other into disadvantageous situations and there are too many moments hesitation in passes. Under José and the few months before Pochettino left there was and is a complete lack of intensive team pressing, forcing mistakes. But above all my biggest gripe is our team plays far to instinctively, and some times solely reactivley as if there is no preparation for the opposition. City plays for better or worse in the exact same way game after game, players occupy certain spaces, make certain runs, we should at least be aware of that and be ready to counter it. Anyway just an arm chair pundit/know-nothings opinion. COYS!!!!

We deserved nothing but Paul Tierney should be ashamed of his performance
4 cup finals in a row we haven’t scored in. Lost the lot. Loser mentality like no other club.
The not having scored in any of them is interesting. We do tend to bottle the finals. We seem to turn up and feel inferior so just sit back and get beat. I know finals can be tight and you’re playing good teams but to not score in any of last 4 shows we have a mentality issue for sure, but I think it’s also because we don’t have a consistent plan or playing style etc so we don’t have confidence in our DNA to go and win.

Just hope this result shows the board the massive task ahead of revamping this squad. There's something seriously sick with this squads mentality and it needs to be dealt with soon. We've got so many players who barely give a sh*t. That poor attitude just spills out on the rest of the team and until we get a new core group of players we are going to continue poisoning the squad.

We'd honestly do better as a team if we got rid of these deadwood players and replaced them with young players with potential from the championship.

I actually agree with this. I want players with hunger who leave it all on the pitch. Most of our squad have given so many phone in performances that I've lost count.

I mean we did well to ride our luck for so long and when it got the the stages to actually go for it and nick it we fully handed the game over with the changes we made. Would loved to have seen all of Ndombele, Lamela and Bale come on when we really could have stolen it, but to have Bale and then also Sissoko, Dele and Bergwijn instead ?‍♂️ ?‍♂️ ?‍♂️

Nobody expected us to win today. But we expected a positive lineup and giving it a good go. We didn’t get either. That’s the problem. There’s not a single positive to take from today. Zero.
The problem about this, is if you get beaten 4-0 is the reaction better? I'm sorry you play what you think is more likely to make us win, and honestly, the reaction of people in a situation where we were still well in the tie, well technically throughout the game is pretty funny actually.

The questions of passion and caring, are also completely laughable because it clearly was there. Everyone selected today tried very hard, it's the quality that really was the difference.

Couldn’t agree more - bored of this group of players.
My problem now is a new manager won’t ‘want’ to have whole sale changes and therefore we might lose one or two - but not the 5 or 6 that have to go

definite outs for me - without fail
Dier
Winks
Alli
Lamela
Sissoko
We are currently a squad of players that think they are better than they are

the problem is levy thinks the same....
Mate Lamela is proper 100% effort guy... There's others before him.

OK I don't even think this was a defensive performance, and I think there is a real issue with how people understand modern football. Creating openings is hard, what Mason tried to do, is build from the back, this generally the main way that attacking teams create now, but essentially we couldn't break Man cities press, same with the CL final it's the same. It's not that it was defensive per se it's that we weren't good enough at the building, but no one is ever good at that against city tbf. What was defensive was the shape, we didn't try and press them but rather we played in a mid-block, probably because we were scared of city hitting those long diagonals into the channels.

The weird thing is we were 10 minutes away from extra time, and actually, we did manage to subdue city in the second half, had a lot more possession, got the ball higher up. The subs I think didn't help us, but even then, I think we were well in the game, and defended well. It goes to extra time and penalties and it's a success.

I think people are exaggerating the doom and gloom. Or are just delusional to the difference in level and what's required to reach that level. One of the issues is we are trying to play from the back now, in a Poch kind of way, Poch teams also could be pinned back in their own half a lot, but there has been no time whatsoever to work on it, so it's kind of what you expect. I thought odds were, we'd be beaten pretty comfortably today and I think that we managed to hold and actually a bit more than that in the second half, wasn't a bad show.
Thank you. Managed to articulate how I felt about the game. Great post.

Anyone taking delight at Sonny crying can really get to fuck! Yeah he never played well but nobody goes out to have a bad game, at least it shows how much it means to him
Players need to be protected by their managers (or chairmen) in our case
He was having such a poor game - he should have made way for bale
Instead, for some reason, he is left on to continue the shit show he was Serving up (by no means is that a dig at Son)

we are a mess from the top down at the moment

Nah, If we have that money levy will still think of how to pocket it. We need some money launderers

Dunno I think we've grown out of winning the league on Fifa using cheat codes and feeling pleased with ourselves for it.

I think after playing passive, lethargic football for 18 months almost impossible to turn that around in one week.

Need a massive overhaul of players and attitudes.

if Im being honest I anticipated losing by 3 goals. wasnt an awful effort - its just watching another round of our joyless, boring football. its going to take a new manager time to get rid of that.

Problem is doesnt matter to an extent who our next manager is unless that clown above him goes. Its painfully obvious we need a total refresh but whilst levy is haggling for top prices for alot of these average dont give a shit players no manager has a chance of real success.
