So Would we rather win the league cup or take part in these sort of games and get to semis of champ lge.

No contest is it
You're right, it is, quite literally no contest, they have nothing to do with each other, Man City didn't lose this tie because of the ONE extra game they played over us going out in the Semi.

Guardiola is only moaning because his owners can't buy VAR and the decisions made, despite being able to buy just about everything and everyone else. If he wants to know what cruel is, he needs to be made to try and win things whilst having a zero transfer kitty, having his clear standout forward injured, and then he should try managing when virtually all of his CMs and defensive midfielders are crocked with injuries, whilst dickead pundits trot out the same tired old nonsense about not winning trophies when at least his 3 or 4 of his rivals for these same trophies have virtually unlimited amounts to spend on wages and transfers.

Mutually exclusive or not, I genuinely believe this CL run is a bigger shot in the arm for us currently than winning the Carabao would have been, and we could still yet even compete in the final or even win the damn thing anyway!

It's huge for our profile and the belief of the players and manager. It's all been about building things gradually since Poch arrived and somehow we're very close to taking another step forward despite this season being an absolute cluster****.

If we keep competing in CL QFs and beyond the domestic trophies will surely come.

Assuming we win the whole thing, would you rather beat Barcelona or Liverpool in the final? I’m undecided.
Liverpool, and ideally in a really shithouse fashion.
Penalty awarded due to a blatant Dele dive, clearly a yard outside the area, in the last seconds of 12 (completely unjustified) minutes injury time...After Dele miraculously only picked up a yellow card for stamping on Salah's face in the 3rd minute of the match.

Scored by Harry Kane picking the ball up and basically throwing it in the goal.

Their tears would be delicious.

The more I think about it I'm shocked VAR ever got through, all the big (or money) clubs have so much more to lose as they are more often than not on the beneficial side of poor refereeing due to on field pressures. It's also great to see everytime a VAR decision is made you don't have the big team players in the ref face screaming as they know they can't con the camera, all those years of suffering Chelsea cheating could have been avoided with VAR, I love it.

Watched the match at home last night, so thought on my way home from work I'd stop off for a beer to celebrate. Cheers to all my fellow Yids.

I'd fancy us much more against Barca than I would against the bin dippers.

I had a very rare viewing of a La Liga match a couple of weeks back with Barca playing against Villareal. It ended 4-4 and they literally couldn't defend.

If United didn't waste countless chances the other night, they'd have been at least 3 up in that game.

As good as they've been in recent history, they're not the invincible beast that they were a few short seasons ago.

I just feel Liverpool have our number & Barca not so much.
Barca have been excellent in the big games though. I fancy them to raise their level against Liverpool. They also have the title won so can rest everyone the weekend before each game. I think they will have the edge in that one. However I think they could underestimate us or Ajax in the final so there's a possibility they slip up. I still think they'll win it all but in a one off game anything will be possible. Over 2 legs I would not fancy us against Barca because they can put a bad result right. If we make the final we can win it against either side but against Barca would be even more special for me.

Pep's biggest mistake tonight was not starting Sane and Fernandinho
I thought it was taking Silva off. Gundogan was pretty poor for them, I thought he should've been the one replaced personally.

Fine margins eh...

Still haven’t recovered what a fucking match, had everything. So much credit to poch and the players, phenomenal effort! BIG loss sissoko going off, with Kane out and no winks, sissoko is pretty vital to carry our attacks forward and for counter attacking as we can’t play to dominate the ball as much without winks to link play and Kane to hold the ball up etc, poch is great how he adapts us depending on what we have but if we are to have any chance to get to the final sissoko needs to be fit.

Incredible match and result that is what football is all about and so nice for us to be on the end of a good decision in a vital big game for once, we have arrived guys.

TO DARE IS TO DO!
I love this amazing club!

They scored a couple of minutes after. The real problem is we were too narrow in our initial formation and both full backs have individually had a mare.

We'll even from their set piece where they scored from we still defended the wide areas poorly. Indicates poor on pitch management by the players.
