CHELSEA are ready for another crack at landing Luka Modric.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich will dangle £22million in front of Real Madrid in a bid to tempt the little Croatian back to England this summer.

And their resolve will be strengthened after they missed out on Metalist Kharkiv’s Brazilian midfielder Taison, 24, who yesterday opted to sign for Shakhtar Donetsk.

Modric is not enjoying the best of season’s under ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and is still adapting to life in Spain. And with Mourinho tipped to leave at the end of this campaign, Abramovich is ready to swoop.

Two years ago Chelsea failed with a £40m bid to sign him from Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Modric is seen as the right man to replace Frank Lampard when his contract expires at the end of this season.

I know it's only the Sun, but this would be bad news if true.

Maybe Levy will remind RM about the supposed negotiated special relationship and to tell Chelsea to f-off. It would be bad form of RM to sell him to Chelsea knowing what we went through with them re Modric. If they don't agree then tell them they'll never get Bale.

It'd certainly be nice to hear from someone purporting to have links with the club to tell us that Mr Levy has inserted a big ol' sell on clause from any prospective Luka move... I'm all ears and hopeful.

Whilst I won't ever wish the guy badly - he was f****** magic for us - I'd rather he went to City than any of our other PL rivals, 'cos I think he'll do the least amount of damage (in terms of game time) there.

But I suppose if he ended up at the chavs and it turned into another Fernando fiasco, I'd not be too down about that.

He's Real Madrid's player now, they can do what they like with him. Don't think AVB or Levy will loose any sleep about it.

Well if RM want Bale I cant see Levy being happy about Modric going to Chelsea

I don't watch Spanish football. Can you tell me if it genuinely looks like he could be moved on?
Not this window, but in the summer depends who is the manager I guess, he has had some moments where he has looked brilliant at moments but not a starter which is expected at the price tag

Yes, I meant in the summer. I see Real had another terrible result last night.
