Cannot see Lloris starting today and if he isn't a constant starter by Christmas cannot see him staying here much longer either.

He needed some time to get used to his teammates and they to him, so mistakes like the ones against Maribor didn't happen too often. Had Naughton remembered that Lloris was left footed, and actually paid attention to Lloris movement before he passed the ball, let alone to the purple shirt in the box, that embarrassing moment wouldn't have happened.

I want to see him on the goal against Man City and established as our first choice keeper from now on.

We have kept one clean sheet all season and that was the only league game Lloris started in. The whole situation is odd. Huge questions have to made with regards to AVB's logic here. None of it makes any sense.

Why the fuck buy a £13m French international captain and decide to put a 41 average yank in his place? Who by the way has cost us many goals already this season.

All very strange.

Bagging Lloris was almost as much a coup as us getting Klinsmann. A few months on the bench seems to have made people forget how well regarded and international class he is, how he'd re-organise the structure of the team from the back and, in fact, make AVB's system work better

I am a big supporter of AVB, but this is getting ridiculous. Normally I'd defend Spurs against gutter press stories, but in this case I agree with most of them

does Hugo speak English ?

Massive feck-up signing him if he didn't have at least rudimentary English. More than any position on the pitch, a goalkeeper needs to be vocal and languages take a while to learn. I see what you're driving at, but surely this would have been a unified message to the press if it was the case? If it's really down to his English not being good enough, wow

Spurs TV have done two interviews with him and he speaks English quite well. Certainly well enough to communicate with the team.

He does speak English, very well actually. He did an interview for spurs tv the day he signed.

Maybe someday the logic of this situation will be revealed to us, but it seems to go against all sense. Hopefully once Llloris is established as our No 1, 12-15 years on from now when he retires leaving a trophy-laden cabinet behind him, these days will be long forgotten. Like when Bale was a laughingstock having never played in a PL game we won...remember that ?

Even if he didn't speak english our top 3 first choice CBs speak French anyway (Gallas, Vertonghen, Kaboul)

Well, quite. I didn't say he didn't, for the record, I was responding to someone theorising he didn't

When he fucking deserves to play he will, I'd also prepare myself for him not quite being the Jesuite-like figure you're all bigging him up to be.

I've yet to receive a good explanation as to how exactly you're all so sure he's a shoe-in for nets, all I read is France No.1, coup, so quick, commanding of his are etc. when he hasn't really shown any of this in his appearances to pretty poor opposition in games we should be dominating anyway.

Did any of you actually see him much at Lyon? Because you wouldn't be saying all the things you are if you did IMO. It's bananas.

Fap fap fapping yourselves into a frenzy over fuck all at the moment.

I'm sure Walker and Naughton took some French classes at school. They're the same age as my first 2 boys and they took basic French. You also forgot BAE, he speaks French too(y)

Hugo Lloris has been one of the most highly regarded goalkeepers in the world for a long time now, which is all the more surprising when he is only 25. He was the French Joe Hart before anyone even knew Joe Hart's name.

Lloris's inability to find a starting berth for us is the greatest concern I have in regards to AVB. Oh, and Adebayor of course.

I didn't include FBs as the GK normally only marshalls the CBs, but I suppose it doesn't hurt.

Anyway a bit moot as he speaks great English anyway
