Went to get a pint half way through the first half, took about 15 minutes to get served but what was more annoying were the tv's near the bar were turned off so I couldn't see what was happening.

I can't see this screening of away games happening too often tbh.
I know Saturday was a hot day and a massive occasion, but I thought our fans trashed the area.
There were cans and bottles and rubbish absolutely everywhere.
The guy doing smack in a phonebox was about 100 yards from at least 3 spurs fans having a piss in the open.

The counsel and the locals won't put up with that too often.

I went with 11 of us. Young and old. Everyone had a great night. No problems in the middle north tier apart form the beer running out and the useless communication from the bar teams. Apart from that pre game the high road was immense. And after we all went on our way. Didn’t see any trouble at all.

There was a huge fight in the front rows right in front of us.

Was this in South Stand? In the corner?

I was next to it kicking off a bit, because once Liverpool scored the 2nd a bloke sitting with a disabled friend/family member started going crazy that people were being allowed to stand in the concourses.

The stewards were being pretty lenient and allowed me to stand and chat with some mates for a while but just asked us to move along a few times. It wasn’t really doing any harm.

The guy in the disabled section told all the stewards he was filming them allowing people to stand and would get them all sacked. He told the Spurs fans standing they could get people killed. He said that his disabled friend could die if someone knocked him.

All a bit crazy and emotions were running high as we’d just lost. It was only a bit of shouting and no physical altercations.

I guess in hindsight everyone should just sit in their seats, but it’s not so easy during the game. Emotions are so heightened.

I support the fact that disabled people should be well looked after, 100%, but if someone is that fragile it may be quite silly to put them in an area of London with over 100,000 people (many who are really drunk).

I think it was the occasion and the whole Saturday night out vibe. Most people were bollocksed before they got in. It felt weird to me and I kind of wished I'd just watched at home.

Still, I didn't see any bother and everyone seemed upbeat even after the final whistle.

A typical match day is definitely much better than this. Not being able to drink in the stands makes a massive difference.
Although there was no trouble that I saw, their was a different atmosphere, to my mind not a completely pleasant one. Not being much of a drinker myself I never understood the prohibition of alcohol in the stands. Now I do.

Thought the atmosphere before kick off was incredible and continued to be good throughout the game. We got in to the stadium as they opened and got food and a drinks straight away, although the girl struggled to poor the pints and I was the first person she had to serve. I was surprised not to see a bank of ready poured drinks waiting for the ensuing masses. I tried a couple of times to get a pint after 7:30 but the queues were just ridiculous so I gave up.
I was sat in the south lower and had a great view of the screens.
There was one bit of trouble a few rows in front of me at half time, I missed what ignited it but a steward stepped in quickly, a guy in front of me swapped seats with one of the guys involved and that was the end of it.

All in all I was pleased I went and didn’t just watch it at home. Great to experience the final surrounded by our own fans, shame about the result

The thing is I’ve been to games in Germany where they bring beer to your seat and I’ve not once seen issues of drunkenness or fighting. It’s got to be a English cultural thing, people were intent on getting pissed up at the game, 1 guy sat near me was in such a state he forgot where he was and was just stumbling about the gangway despite quite a few of us telling/showing him where his seat was. Doubt he’ll remember getting to the stadium if I’m honest.

I'm also glad I went. If the result had gone the other way it would have been incredible: I don't think they'd sell it out for much short of a cup final on a weekend. The survey might be useful for the club planning for non-football events.

It's no secret Germans like their beer. But having lived five there for five years, they don't tolerate people falling around drunk and acting the twat. Behave like that and the people with you won't laugh it off, they'll just tell you you're being a nob and to go home.

But I didn't see much if any of that on Saturday. Not saying it didnt happen but I don't think it was too widespread.

I think that was what lent a slightly sour note to it, purely on a personal level. There were four chaps sat to my right and they took turns going to the bar and coming back with four pints. They did it so often that at one point I started counting. I stopped after seven. So between them they had at least 28 pints. I quite enjoy drunk people having a good time, usually. Again not really being a drinker myself, I suppose I get some vicarious pleasure out of it. But it felt like they were there just to get hammered.

Outside the stadium I was on the edge of the ‘army’ that had assembled by the No. 8 singing songs. Got a little... moistened, shall we say? with beer and didn’t mind that at all. Was all good fun (although felt sorry for the traffic that was held up). But once inside, the level of drinking just felt a little off.

Maybe I’m just being a grumpy old man. I did have a good time, just a very small bum note.

Thankfully the people around me were fine (block 256) they may have disliked me after i was going ape shit at the penalty decision though, after that i tried to keep quiet as much as i could, which was very difficult to do.

I spent the entire day in the No.8 then the Brickies. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible throughout till well past the game ending. Great way to introduce my wife to it ( she is Serbian and it was her first jaunt to Tottenham ). So much love for all the fans that were there and all the fans that were amazing to her and helped make the day special despite the result. We had our first drink at 5.30am in Glasgow airport so to say we were inebriated by the time we hit our hotel room was an understatement. It was my first visit to the new ground, the sheer scale of it dominating the skyline stepping off the train, and how close it is to the High road is really just a thing of beauty

I love that this post from a Glaswegian is in amongst all the posts complaining about people being too drunk ?

Generally I think anyone expecting there to be absolutely no issues with 63,000 fans, plus 1000s more in the surrounding pubs is living on another planet.

Overall I think the atmosphere was incredible and any problems were few and far between.

Weird vibe at the stadium I thought. Not like the home games this season.

I personally don't think drink during the game is that much of an issue, it was more the 8pm Saturday kick-off. People were demented drunk before game started.

The lad beside me was fvcked. Just kept cursing angrily for the game even during good spells. Made for a pretty shit night.

Afterwards there was definitely an edge. I don't normally mind that to be honest but it was very different to other games and I was with the missus so a bit sh1t. Would've been immense if we won though.

I stayed in the market place until they stopped selling beer after the game. It was crazy, people were all hammered and singing like we'd won.

Got a video of everyone singing "sit down if you hate Arsenal" when a disabled fan in a wheelchair came in.

I was surprised that they hadn't closed the road as per normal tbh.

Atmosphere was incredible before the game have never seen the high road like that before.... was a little scuffle at half time in the Shelf Corner and then Block 250 at the end of the game was about 15 people having a punch up ..... lots of beer consumed and the emotions of the game took its toll on a few people
