Have a look at these games from the 2002 WC involving South Korea. Why FIFA never took any actions here....is no surprise because they themselves are orchestrating it.
I would not be surprised if refs and football officials get huge kick-backs from illegal betting gangs.

I did know what you meant hence the winky-face (y)

I've got no real idea but my gut feeling is that corruption will be worse in Spain/ France/ Italy than UK

People used to say the same regarding he Bundesliga...

Withing the British judicial system there's been exposed rampant corruption, so you believe the wealthiest football league in the world is one the only "big" institution not touched by corruption?

The good bit starts around halfway down.

He would have been forgotten forever, except in the minds of Italians. And then, in September of 2010, he flew into JFK airport in New York from Quito. According to a customs engagement report, later filed in court, Moreno looked “visibly nervous” as he went through customs. He was searched and a customs officer noted “hard objects in his stomach, back and legs.” When strip-searched, he was found to be carrying ten bags of heroin, for a total of six kilograms. He was arrested.

and on it goes...

Talking about Fulop....what about Boruc :D

You might be joking, but I actually had a little bit of a heart-sinking moment during the replay of Kane's hat-trick goal.

I'm going to wait to see it in better quality, but it really looked like he deliberately did that. As in, it's actually quite clear he deliberately did that?

With the amount of money there is in football, especially with clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid, it's no wonder there's corruption.

Watching that again for the fist time since seeing the games live on TV, it looks even worse than I remember. The corruption in football is so deeply entrenched that such blatant cheating gets accepted and ignored. I guess most of us only really pay attention when we suspect it has happened to our own team. I hope the pigs at FIFA get what they deserve but I won't hold my breath.

If we're buying goals then that has Levy written all over it. It would be cheaper to buy a 5th goal in a thrashing against a relegation candidate than it would to buy a solitary winner against Liverpool :(

I think it was in Fergies autobiography where he compares our mentality with the Italians - the British can't see how football can be fixed, whereas the Italians can't see how it isn't!

I still think that Martin Fulops performance in goal for wba against the Arse was worthy of investigation. He pretty much threw the ball in his own net for one of the goals. Also what a coincidence it was the only match Ben Foster missed the whole season and Fulop left wba straight after that match. Highly suspicious.
Artur boruc anyone?

And what is glaring from the South Korean games is that the players seem to "know" they have license to "kill" the opponents' players.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the refs and linesmen in all those 3 games were bought!
