Modric. Levy was instrumental in getting him too IIRC.

We've enjoyed some incredible talent recently but he made the whole team sexy.

Edgar Davids, all of sudden we looked like a club with real ambitions of actually doing something

If you were to ask Levy, I expect him to say Bale, Modric and Berbatov as these gave him in excess of £100m profit, but fair play to him for taking a gamble and bringing them here in the first place, as none of the 3 were premiership proven,

Agree, Davids and to an extent Naybet were huge factors in kick-starting the rise we had. We might not have been in a position to sign Bale, Modric, Berba and others if not for them.

I'd say VDV for a few reasons...

1) I'd put Bale/Modric down as primarily Comolli signings. They were also either 'about right' or 'over value' purchases at that time. We got VDV for £8m when he was allegedly a £20m transfer shortly before.

2) VDV appears to have been a 100% Levy transfer. I doubt HR would have ever gone for him off his own back, and he was instrumental to perhaps our strongest spurs side in the PL

I think history will show it to be John McDermott in 2005 and Alex Inglethorpe in 2006. These guys turned out academy from a laughing stock, to one of the best in the world.

Kane, Mason, Bentlaeb, Rose, Townsend, and the exciting coming generations, are their creations.

Modric, Bale, Berbatov, Carrick, VDV

Then players that gave us something we really needed at the time although werent long term brilliant signings but just effective short term- Naybet, Palacios, Davids - to take a different stance and move away from the obvious ones above.

OH- and one obvious one that hasn't been mentioned...

The French captain and top 5 goalkeeper in the world cam eto Spurs when we werent in the CL - Lloris for 12 Mil. What a signing..

I would say Berbatov, I loved his partnership with Keane and I loved the moment they both hugged at Wembley after winning the cup final, although technically 225 is right, VDV is the best Levy transfer, a great slice of luck about that transfer I think with Munich pulling out of a 18 million transfer and Madrid being desperate to sell. Such a great shame he's not with us now, he would be great for the young players to learn from, I'd love for him to come back.

Rafa for me, came out of the blue, so exciting to get a player of this caliber ready to go! He hit the ground running and never looked back. Inspired the team and the fans

Bale has been our best player in the Levy years, and on top of that he was our best investment financially so he's probably the correct answer.

Modric and VDV though have to be pretty close.

And Jenas of course.

Not really "players", but I see what you're saying there.

Modric for me.Still doing it at Real. World class out of nowhere. Bold.
Gave us a new dimension.
Rafa I loved but he couldn´t survive the politics at Real or Spurs.
Bale was a slow burner that we nearly sold for nuffink.
May yet turn out to be the best of the lot.
Who signed Carrick? (Arnesen for Santini?)
Should never have sold him.
Undervalued by every club he has played for and England.
