is Higgie now a CM? Just wondering on how you linked the purchase of a striker with the sale of a box to box midfielder.

I also support Juve and Pogba has been brilliant in flashes and inconsistent as you say. I do wonder if this signing is about pride more than need.

It's the money they spent on Higuain, implying they might want/need to sell that makes we wonder.

It's beginning to look more and more like another window of desperation for United.

Yip but I think Juve know they will get a lot for him as Real also want Pogba

You know more about Italian football than me. Would they spend that much on a player if they weren't selling Pogba?

No, but I'm being an ass. I was trying to say Utd might not get him. Now if I'd said that in the beginning it would've been quicker & clearer.

tbf though Juve own/ part own so many players that they could sell 30 and not have to worry about selling Pogba. They're shadier than Kia Joorheisworthanother10millionbin

Pogba for 100 million is nuts but I feel the Man U directors don't want to say no because they don't want it to look like they can't match the spending of Madrid .

What's going on is the chequebook one spending ridiculous amounts of money and will claim to be the messiah if they win anything

Seems very posturing to me.

Pogba isn't worth 100m.

I think it's more a case of trying to look hard.

Is the Pogba thing STILL not sorted yet? United need to get tough and do a deal or walk away, imo, else they'll drag up until the last few hours of the window then get their pants pulled down over a clause or fee - just like we used to.

If they have the money they should just throw it at them and say "that's what we got, you selling or are we walking away?" and stick to it. Right now, Pogba and his agent are 100% in charge (you know the club will never turn down the numbers being discussed here) and that's a shitty place for a football team to find themselves, held to ransom by an agent.

Surely Pogba won't be able to play until at least September, he probably hasn't gone faster than a light walk since the Euros ended

They released a one line statement confirming Pogba is allowed to take a medical with them.

At. Long. F'king. Last.

This bloody thing has been inevitable from the start but it's taken foreeever to get to this stage. 100m+ though? Juve must be laughing. They've already bought really well.

£76m for Higuain is overpaying.

But Pjanic, Benatia, Alves, Lemina and Pjaca all look very good signings.

It is, but Napoli are hard to deal with. And it weakens them with the best (?) striker in the league moving to the champs.

Juve seem to be building for a CL run and seem pretty stacked to begin with so i guess they can over pay for a top notch striker. Higuain is a great striker, and if the fee had been £40m-£45m i think it would have been a good (if still pricey for a 29 year old) fee.

And Napoli did finish 9pts off Juve last season, 24pts the previous 2 seasons. Granted Napoli looked like it was getting better, but (currently) it is like a Hammer weakening it's rival the Nail.

Napoli could, in theory, do quite a bit with that money. I personally think they overpaid for Milik to replace Higuain but really like the Zeilinski and Tonelli signings. I know there is talk of them signing another player or two but it seems like the prices being quoted are just as stupid. Be interesting to see if they can add any more to the squad before the window closes.

I saw a picture from today and Higuain looked quite chunky. Might be the angle, but there we go.

Agreed on Milik. Very high price. I think they might get Marko Rog from Dinamo, around 12-15m which - like Pjaca at something like 25m? - sounds a lot like the owner knowing each team has a lot of money to spend.

Higuain always veers on the edge of chunky - he's going to be one fat fucker when he retires.
