Favourite comment so far... so, if Mancini is proven to have been taking a double salary as a consult for Mansour's other company, I wonder how many other staff have done the same... like... Arteta hahahah
Arteta got extra money for being a consultant for Legoland.

City will top Arsenal and then have points deducted. How Arsenal are having the planets aline for them to win the PL. let’s hope City get relighted if it’s that serious.

Blue Moon are 400 pages in and are balls deep in conspiracy theories. They're convinced the PL have spent four years combing every line in every document only to pull 100 charges out of a hat in a lucky dip. Apparantly Sheik Mansoor is going to 'burn the Premier League to the ground'.

Honestly, puts our New Manager threads to shame.

I'm not hugely knowledgeable (about the law but also, generally) but I would assume City'll do what a lot of wealthy entities do: drag it out. They don't even need to win the argument because the money means they can afford to wait - they just need to wear your patience/resources down.

Interesting though because the remaining Super League clubs will either look at this as an example of the PL being unfair or invite City if they're found guilty - either way I think their futures are entwined.

But the Premier League could kick them out or dock them a load of points starting next season. What good will it do City to try and drag it out?

From the Stefan Borson guy

Very entertaining indeed

I live in derby and saw the football leagues investigation in to derby

Its worth noting why that took so long. Firstly the football league can be ruthless but were willing to forgo derby but the issue was Gibson. The chairman of Middlesbrough felt that the investigation had to be followed through.

Despite this Derby through the legal system were able to draw out the punishment from the league over 2 seasons. Derby's punishment was handed out in 2022 season. They were charged for something in the financial accounts in 2018, which were released in 2019. They got charged in 2020 with several appeals and able to draw out over 18 months

Nothing about this will be quick imo

It's embarrassing really. Clearly it's important to see the outcome of the investigation before passing judgment but fans can be so blinded by partisanship. At least when we were in danger of losing points in the early 90s, Sugar was able to successfully argue that financial irregularities took place under a previous administration. City fans won't accept any wrongdoing regardless of the outcome.

It really is. Currently it sounds like a bunch of teenagers in a bus shelter talking about how everything is so unfair and everyone else is doing it so why can't we?

Oh and lately a lot of talk about how Mansoor will pick up the phone to Rishi Sunak and threaten to spend his money elsewhere and the charges will magically disappear.

If City work their magic to ensure they're cleared of all of these, then the PL may as well have "burned to the ground".

They cannot be trusted to enforce rules against systemic financial doping ever again if they lay over a hundred charges at City's door and none of them stick.

However I think in terms of relegation, expulsion or deductions, we're going to be disappointed. They will drown everything in lawyers. They are experts in legal obfuscation and have vicious, morally subterranean owners that will empower the legal team to use every trick in the book short of shooting the panel.

It's daft. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. It will take forever and a day to reach a conclusion.

City enable it - encourage it, even - by employing Trump-esque tactics; not just to deny but to always be on the offensive. Their accusation that the charges were leaked to the press before the PL's announcement may seem wild and pointless and that it amounts to nothing (the latter is certainly true, who fucking cares) but it's all designed to paint themselves as the victim in all of this, to mobilize the bad faith actors in their online fanbase. That includes bought-and-paid for twitter bots but mostly just real people that are beyond all reason, all logic.

I think the funniest would be a 60pt deduction so they need 100pts next season just to avoid relegation. And they would probably still overtake West Ham by February.

I’m hopeful that they will get a real kick in the bollox from the PL.

I did however, think UEFA had them bang to rights a couple of years ago and they got off.

Perhaps lessons have been learned and justice will be done

next up……Chelsea

If players/staff were paid illegally does that make them party to the offences and therefore culpable? That would include Arteta one presumes.

This will rumble on for months & months before all being swept under the rug.

no way do they get points deduction or relegation. Slap on the wrist with a hefty fine I suspect.
