"Let's laugh nervously in Liverpool's general direction"
Nah, I'll stick to farting in their general direction.

Been linked with delph now, if true then it's starting to get ridiculous.

They already have Henderson, Allen, Can and Milner who are all central midfielders with not a lot of creativity about them.

Firmino has come in and takes up similar positions to Coutinho.

Then they have about 6 strikers or whatever and are still being linked to more.

Whilst Firmino is probably an upgrade, it appears that Rodgers hasn't learnt lessons from previous years. It's all very well bringing in 3 or 4 players but they appear to be wanting much more. What's even more baffling for them is Rodgers doesn't appear to have a preffered formation, as he switches it so often or gets hung up on one formation after a few good results until they hit bad form again.

Basically, there doesn't appear to be a strategy in place, other than sign better players than what we currently have, which is a gamble in my opinion.

I think he is a bit like me on Football Manager. I have a clear vision on who I want then I start drinking and end up signing every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Its obvious that Liverpool get business done early before selling Sterling to finance it all.

I really hope that City pull the plug on the Sterling deal. The numbers beeing thrown around for him is crazy, he is a tad overrated imo.

Wonder what would happen if they dont manage to sell Sterling. They have been paying top fees and/or wages for their new players. Surely they will struggle with the FPP rules if Sterling dont gets sold, and City should know this.

Not sure many other players are going to command big fees.

Sturridge would need to play 30+ games this year for a big team to show much interest, Coutinho is good but most the big teams have better (or at least more consistant) players that can do his job. Henderson and a couple of others are okay but I don't think there is a £20M player amongst them.

If Henderson keeps on improving then he might actually fulfil that Gerard role which he was bought in to do. I don't think he is on the same level at similar ages but hard to compare as Hendo might be a late bloomer. He would go for north of £20m but not much more.

You must remember that prices very rarely go down overall. a CM role has gone from the £6-12m range to £12-30m in the past 8 seasons. And with more money coming in I don't see that trend reversing, so Liverpool might not £20m for Hendo now but in 2 years that might be the base price of any homegrown CM.

Last year on Sky Jamie Carragher stated that Paulinho would score 15+ goals for us this season ,
Gary Neville bet him that he wouldn't and the forfeit was that Carra would have to wear one of GNev's Man U Kits for 24 hours.(y)

Neville has now asked for payment of the forfeit. Needless to say the Dippers' fans are upset

one fan tweeted Neville

David Thompson‏@DTommoLFC
@Carra23 @GNev2 Don't even dare put that sh*t stained rag on Carra...you'll catch all manner of diseases!!

and Neville's reply

Worth a try he might catch that disease called " Winning" and spread it through your lot!

Interesting feature on Firmino in the Sunday Times today. Nobody created more chances or completed more dribbles in the BL in the last two years, yet only 5 players completed more tackles (all DM's).

It was saying how England once looked to Scotland for players with flair and aggression, but now it's South America with players like Sanchez, Aguero, Costa (originally Brazilian), Di Maria, Lamela etc.

Those stats are interesting. Sounds like they could have unearthed another Suarez. A real pain in the arse handful of a player who will press from the front, and back it up with real guile when needed. Shame, we could do with someone like that to help out Harry up front. We're missing that link between the striker and the midfield. I hope Lamela can step into a role like that this year, otherwise I doubt he'll be here for long.

They already failed FFP but were let off the hook.

I won't be laughing at em, they'll probably beat us again!! I'm more worried that we aren't finding, or seemingly looking for, forward players like Firmino!!!

Why does that stop you laughing at them?

If I wasn't allowed to laugh at people for such an arbitrary reason as "they are better than me" I'd be truly miserable.

They've beaten us quite a bit recently but we've had the last laugh in 6 of the last 7 seasons, or whatever it is.

Anyway, we can always laugh at rogers. Or when he gets sacked which he will when they inevitably don't get top 4.

Personally I wouldn't laugh at any team. If any club's fans are gonna get bitten on the ar5e, it'll be ours!!! Just concentrate on Spurs, fuck the rest!!!

Rumours bouncing around Twitter (reliable source I know) of FSG selling up Liverpool to a Singapore based consortium...

These don't normally turn out to be true but this one sounded quite adamant on it happening 1st July

As a rule anything on Twitter that states to be happening by a deadline will definitely not be happening.
